Ahoy lads! :hi

I'm actually uploading my recent works, you'll find it on ftp under folder: Seb/recent works.

In this folder, you'll find :



* The updated Surprise and Boussole models. Unfortunately, and despite many tries, i coul'dn't make a proper converting with TOOL on my computer! Tough i've precisely followed the method and spent many time on it.

Consequently, those two models are still beeping, so if anyone who can, would try to convert it properly on his computer, that would be really, really great!

Here is an overview on some particular changes :

* You'll will then find a set with a character reskin of Pirat11 model (that remains to be added as a proper character) and the ship corresponding : The "Licorne". I hope the ones who read Tintin and Snowy adventures will recognise it :

I hope so, i talked with Yo ho ho about this problem, he told me that TOOL had a different behaviour on each computer, i tried everything i could for those two models, really, but i don't see what i could do more, so i guess there will be a computer amongst ours that will do the conversion properly?! I hope, because i like those little details, i'm especially glad about the stern lanterns ^^

of course, i can't help but nitpick, as usual:

on the licorne, the bowsprit is of the wrong kind. the yard for the spritsail is attached to a spritmast in the drawn picture. also, no jibs excisted in that period. or did you intentionally alter it?
 
Well, my capacities are limited to texturing ^^ i've no tools and no experience about modeling, those small details were also bothering me a bit, and i did some tries about the figurehead, but i have not the necessary things to correct this, and about the sails, i've no knowledge in correcting this ^^'

I started this with the project to make something that would be quite close to the original ship, quite approaching but nothing more due to my skills. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I Knew i couldn't do something exceptionnaly close to the drawing.

As for the drawed ship, he's inspired from the XVII century vessel le "Brillant"

About a Haddock storyline, i also think there would be somme matter <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />
 
Would be fun as far as I'm concerned. Or we use the Hadoque model as "Captain Seb" in the game; we'll be having one of him sooner or later, I think. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Just a short post to publish those three walkfiles for AOP ships that i found on Seanorris's blog, and to inform you that Zareth_PL is doing an awesome job on the Surprise's rigging, and that he will try to rework her shape a bit to give her stern galleries!

He probably uses a free shareware for screenshots <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
Why? F8 saves screenshots in TGA format and PrintScreen + Paint also works. Both free and without watermarks. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
 
That's ingame only; saves the images as TGA in your main game folder. Useful for making multiple screenshots without exiting/Alt-Tab-ing.
You do need to convert to JPG with some program if you want to post it on the forum though.
