Nathaniel Hawk's Captain's Hat!

Hey guys of the modding team, first off i just want to say GOOD FREAKING JOB on this mod! I really appreciate you breathing new life into this gem of a game. It really hasn't aged well.
I recently encountered Clint Eastwood, and noticed that it was basically Nathaniel Hawk's model but with a Captain's hat! I was just wondering, is there any way I can get this hat for my character? Or can I replace the existing model for the Clint Eastwood one? And if so, how exactly can I do that? Thanks in advance! Keep doing what you're doing!

I believe you can buy this outfit in an outfit shop, also when starting a new game there is the option to choose Nathaniel Hawk with the captain hat. :cheers

The model is "wf1blaze". Its description, both in a tailor shop and when picking your character model for a new game, is "Matey, yer seen-all, hard face can tell: You FINALLY earned a captains hat,and a decorative earring."

If you want Clint Eastwood to use a different character model, edit "PROGRAM\Characters\init\QuebradasCostillas.c", find the entry for "Clint Eastwood", and change the line 'ch.model = "wf1blaze";' to use your choice of model.

Actually guys, i got a problem. I went ahead and purchased the Pirate Collection from the tailor at Bridgetown for 10k. The Clint Eastwood model was not included among them. I tried many times to get the tailor to sell it to me by restarting the dialog, because what he sells randomizes every time i talk to him. It never came up, neither did the other Nathaniel Hawk models named "Blaze#". All i got are outfits from characters from the movie, npc models, some where nathaniel looks like an Officer, and he indeed wears a hat in those, and some legendary pirates and whatnot. Care to help me some more? Do i need to go to a Pirate tailor perhaps? Does such a thing even exist?

Indeed you do.

Different outfits are assigned to different nations, so not every tailor sells the same stuff.
The outfit you want is available from the Pirate one.

Does such a thing even exist?
Yep, in the Nevis Pirate Settlement Fort. He's a fat guy standing outside, near the gates.

Thank you SO MUCH! I finally got the outfit I wanted. I have just one more question. I noticed the armor is not visible when I have it equipped on this model as it was on the previous one. I don't really care that much, I was just wondering if there's any way to make it so that it is visible. Again, I really appreciate you helping me. :)

Someone would have to make armoured variants of that character model.
I know @Grey Roger has been adding some lately, so he can probably give you some details on how that works.

The system recognises variants of a model for metal armour. The variants are the base model name with the suffixes "_A1" (cheap armour), "_A2" (battle armour), "_A3" (gold armour). So you need to create "wf1blaze_A1.gm", "wf1blaze_A2.gm" and "wf1blaze_A3.gm".

First, read the tutorial Retexture a Gm-model. This tells you how to make a new model with a different texture.

Make versions of "blaze.tga.tx" with armour added. The new texture file names must be 5 letters long, e.g. "blzA1.tga.tx", "blazA.tga.tx", etc. This is because you'll use Hex Editor to edit "wf1blaze.gm", look for "BLAZE.tga" and change it to your new texture name, then save the result as one of the armoured versions. The file name must be the same length otherwise you'll overwrite other data in the model file, which then won't work.

Note that texture file "wf1blaze.tga.tx" is only used for the head, so you won't need to change that. This is a composite model which "Animation View" can't display properly so you'll have to check that your armoured models look right by using TOOL:
