Need Help Defeating A Boss

Today I reached the Pirate Governer boss (the one who you need to kill in order to obtain the pirate loyalty to start your own colonies - or something like that) on Isla Mona VIA the main questline.

Up till now the enemies have been giving me little or no trouble and if there is one I cannot defeat initially I can usually get him after several tries.

Although this boss is giving me a lot of trouble and I am looking for some tips to defeat him.

Currently I am:
Level 11
Weilding and expensive Rapier
Weilding a lead quartet
At 5 fencing, 3 gunning (The rest of my attributes were spent in cannons, tactics and accuracy)
Also have a number of helpful abilities like hard man and beserker

Any tips will be appreciated <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Stab, stab, and stab him again <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Although his HP is, like, 1000, he doesn't block. As long as you can keep him off-balance with stabs, you should be fine.

(Huh... Somehow I've become and expert on defeating the Pirate Boss without even owning the game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />)

I managed to beat him by just running around him then stabbing him then running and so on. You were right, he didn't seem to block. Thanks for the tip!
