Need help with modding the game.

I was able to do some stuff I wanted in the Original POTC, but not on your Mod12 releases <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
So can you guys PLEASE help me out with following questions:
1) I need to make the officers I hire to be LEVEL ONE at the moment I hire them and with 4 free points in knacks and 9 freepoints in skills. I already figured out how to get more knacks and skills each level. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
2) How do I modify existing cannons? I tried to change reload time in cannon_init, but it did not work.
3) How do I modify existing swords, pistols and muskets?
4) How do I create new canons, swords, pistols and muskets?
5) If I find a worn weapon, where do I go to fix it?
6) How do I create new ships? Not the looks, but the data for them?

Modify iniItems.c and start a new game or press I to reinitialize.

New cannons: Make a copy of an old cannon in cannons_initc and change the statistics. Also add the new cannon to cannons.h. Start a new game.
New swords, pistols, muskets: Edit initItems.c, copy an existing item and change the statistics. Note: The place to change the things depend on whether the weapons mod is on or off. Press I to reinitialize.

In Build 12.1: Go to Douwesen harbour. There's a blacksmith there.
In Pre Build 13: There's a blacksmith on Douwesen, Quebradas Costillas, Redmond, Isla de Muelle, Falaise de Fleur and Conceicao. They have their own stores.

Copy an existing ship in ships_init.c and change the statistics. Press I to reinitialize.
