Over at the official new Paradox <a href="http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=398707" target="_blank">forum</a> they have announced the release of a new teaser video for you tube, like before I cannot show it as it busts IE but I will get onto fixing that soon. The video is more of an introduction and won't give you any more information that your not aware of but any media is good media <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I must say it's not that impressive, the CG looks from a few years ago imho.

I hope this was an earlier preparation while lighthouse were looking after it.

On the bright side, it was CG, the in game looks better.

They sure didn't go in to much detail about the game, just a broad overview ...and they didn't even mention pirates! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> I will buy it once it's released though, I have been looking foreword to this game ever since it was announced a few years ago.

I am also nonplussed by the video. Although I believe it is CG based on the look of the sails. From what I understand of the game the only first person (FP) activity is Sailing. I think the video could mislead others into thinking there will be a lot of FP activity. Maybe Paradox is pushing Nitro to add FP interfaces. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":huh" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> Hence the 6 month delay. Although I thought FP was going to be the primary focus of Nitro's next game.

I was hoping for more information would come out of GDC. But it appears EIC was only a footnote at the Paradox booth.

I agree, I don't think you can actually play as a pirate. In saying that I think you can play like a pirate plundering ship and selling in friendly ports (what ports were pirate friendly around that time) That would be an interesting list.

I am very curious to see the game mechanics, especially how they will handle boarding and looting and capturing ships. It really is a shame that they are not including pirates as a playable faction. Some of the most famous pirates in history made their fortunes hunting East India company ships. I sure do hope that they at least allow us to play as a pirate, and not restrict everything to trading. I know there were several pirate friendly ports on and around Madagascar. I am sure there were numerous other ports all around southern Asia that were pirate friendly as well.

Should be early Q3 this year, Paradox have a good reputation so I would say it's going to be close to that.
