Hello all.
So, I downloaded New Horizons Refined last night, played a bit, and then noticed that, in direct sail, every few moments the bell rings and 3 (yes, three) days pass. The date advances by three days, 3 days worth of food and rum is spent, and I can't even leave an island's area before "a month passess" and I have to pay crew salaries.
In those "three days", while on world map I can travel from one island to another, buy stuff, and be half way to another island. In direct sail same run would cost me few months, at least.
Then I downloaded Beyond New Horizons and noticed that every "in game hour" a day passes - and it's also marked by a bell ring. However, in Beyond New Horizons, I travel about the same distance in same time while in direct sail and on world map.
So obviously, Refined punishes us a lot for using direct sail, and rewards us for using world map, while Beyond is quite fair and it's pretty much the same whichever we choose to use.
My question is - can this be fixed? Can it be "fair"?
I like improved running speed and land combat of Refined, so I'd love to continue playing it, if this can be fixed.
P.S. I prefer DX9 graphics in Refined - DX11 sea is just extremely unrealistic, and fog is literally everywhere, there are no sunny days.
P.P.S. Is build 14 same as Beyond? Which one do you prefer? Should I try out Build 14?
EDIT: after some testing, the problem exists in REALISTIC MODE difficulty setting, and doesn't appear on IRON MAN. But playing always on IRON MAN without world map is annoying. Also, tried to get some sunny days in the game - and there are none. It's always endless fog. Well, I give up on this mod. Few "improvements" don't justify these drawbacks.
EDIT 2: Tested Beyond New Horizons a bit. I attached screenshot of date changing every hour. Then I changed to IRON MAN difficulty (from REALISTIC) and then date didn't change every hour. Then changed to ARCADE, same thing. Changed back to REALISTIC, then suddenly no date change every hour. I give up on Beyond New Horizons too... something is seriously wrong with these mods.
