I'm a relatively new member and I and am not sure how things work here however, I have created Installers (using InstallShield 11.5) for both PotC 12.1 and 13 Beta if someone wants to upload them. I hated copying all the files over as the network install package didn't work on my PC and I don't see how it was intended to work. So <b>12.1 is 80.5 MB</b> and <b>13 Beta is 241 MB</b> and both are single exe files. I can break them into muliple rar files for upload.

That is vert nice! For the Post Build 12 mods, an installer file isn't really practical, because we keep changing the file. However, a better installer for Build 12.1 would be great. I made it into a simple WinZip Self-Extracting .exe file, because that is basically the best I can do. A proper installer would be much better though. And once the Post Build 12 mods have been made into a proper Build 13, that could do with a proper installation program as well! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" />

BTW: Just to let you know: That is the old FTP. The new one is at ftp.piratesahoy.org. I would recommend using that one from now one, but it doesn't really matter now. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
Hi, could someone tell me where I can get the new self installing file, as i've just d/l;d the .zip one and it wont extract as it says it's corrupt. Have just bought PotC for a fiver, and this mod sounds amazing, so would be really nice If i could have it. Also i know it's a bit off topic but is there a relatively bug free version of the post 12 build, as that sounds even better, but masses of bugs dont sound too appealing to me...
 
The zip version should be working fine, for all I know. There is a selfextracting .exe file in there. When I have time, I will download Vampyre_DCS's installer version and upload it somewhere.

For the Post Build 12 mods to work, you will need to have Build 12.1 installed already. The Post Build 12 mods are playable, but sometimes you run into some weirdness. There is a more stable version available in the <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net/index.php?showtopic=6914" target="_blank">Post B12 Full and Pre B13</a> thread, but that one is basically just an old version that seems to work better, because it includes less features. However, that version includes at least one bug that was fixed later, but isn't fixed in that version yet. I will get that fixed in the weekend.
 
OK this just got REALLY weird. Having figured that the original d/l was faultyt, I tried to d/l it agin, but now the download completes in less than one sec... for a 80 meg file. It originally took an hour.. hmmmm. Not only that, but every time i download it now the same happens, whether i delete the files I already have, choose different download locations, etc. And no matter what i do it still comes up with the same error message on attepts to run the .exe file:

C:\Documents and Settings\Rory\Desktop\Game Files\build12_full.zip: CRC failed in build12_full.exe. The file is corrupt!
Cannot execute "C:\DOCUME~1\Rory\LOCALS~1\Temp\Rar$EX00.937\build12_full.exe"

WHAT the HELL is going on??? Any help m,uch appreciates - your mod sounds awesome and i really want to play it!

As for the CRC error, I unfortunately, have nothing to offer other than trying my installer once it has been tested and approved.

What the HECK is that supposed to be? That's crazy!
Something you might try: Remove all you temporary internet files. Maybe the file is in temporary internet files somewhere and your computer thinks it doesn't need to downlaod again? Also: Make sure the file has the right extension. I believe the file you downloaded should have the extension .zip, not .exe. Then try to open it with WinZip and extract the .exe file instead, then run it. Does that do any good?
 
Ok this mod really doesnt want me to play it... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> Managed to download it properly again, don't know how - just worked this time. On attempting to either run the exe from inside winRAR or trying to move the .exe from RAR to the desktop I get the same error message as before.
WinZIP gives the error message
"ERROR: Invalid compressed data to inflate"

As I've fully downloaded it twice now, I doubt its a problem with the download, so I don't have a clue what's wrong with it... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
Any ideas?...
 
Tomorrow, I will download the file for myself and see if the file got corrupted.
 
I'm sorry; I haven't been able to check it yet. I want to do waaay more than I actually can. I won't have time to download it again before Wednesday. I was wanting to download Vampyre_DCS's new installer as well, but haven't found time for that either. Don't worry: Eventually I'll do everything I want. It'll just take a long while... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
I have redownloaded the Build 12 full installer file and can confirm it works just fine for me. Seems like the file isn't corrupted... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
hmmmm - i might try re installing win rar and winzip then. I've just had the same error message crop up trying to unzip a different file as well, so it may just be a poor install of the archive programs.
