New modpack update coming up

It certainly won't be Pieter's Pack. I will not give myself more credit than I deserve. I might give myself less credit, but certainly not more.

Another problem with making a new Build update: The Build is supposed to contain only the really stable new stuff, so what should be added? Is the Post Build 12 current base version properly stable? What bugs really still need fixing? I don't want to release a crappy Build update, of course.

Haven't been around much lately and haven't touched the game in either form (Build or SLiB) for ages, although I have been dropping in for a quick look at the forum every day or so to keep in touch with what's going on. Been very busy with work.

Firstly, I'd like to say thanks to Pieter for another supreme effort in bringing us the latest installment of the ever evolving Post Build 12 Mod, which by the looks of it has quite a few excellent new features and fixes that I'm looking forward to trying out. BTW, sorry Pieter, I haven't had a chance to compile a comprehensive features list or bugs list yet, however, time permitting, I'll try and have a go over the next week or so. Thanks also to CCC, not only for your modding but for your substantial bug fixing.

As far as the ongoing update of the mod is concerned, I agree with CCC. I think one package is essential to avoid, a) confusion with downloading of updates, b) compatibility issues, i.e, bugs arising from modders working with slightly different versions, and c) to simplify the process of updating the Mod Pack. I would think it would also make it easier to identify bugs if everyone has the same package rather than fragmented elements. I have a slow internet connection and big downloads do take along time for me, however I would much prefer to take the time downloading a single package which I know will be supported by the majority of the community here.

Keep up the great work there, lads.

i just wanted to ask about a few of the features of the mods on PIETER'S PIRATE PAGE.
- the corsairs III models, is the brothel room there? is it installed normally or do i have to do it manually?
- the new character models, are they available at the tailor's shop?
-the mapships, are they new ships or new skins, and if they're new ship skins does it have british naval skins i.e the nelsonian ship skins?
-the master & commander sounds, do they work with the real cannons mod [each cannon has unique sound]?

As for the mapships, don't expect too much, I just combined regular PotC hullmodels with a simple rig.

and there was me think it was ship skins!
i thought it was for the ships, not the world map.

Pieter, you could move about a dozen MB of filespace into a seperate download without any risk of confusion or incompatibilities:
the mapships <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> and all new reloadingscreens. These are not really needed by the program, worst that could happen is a black loading screen. So nobody could make any mistakes there, it doesn't really matter if and when you download and install those files.
 
1) The brothel room is in the Corsairs III models file. Install it on top; you might have to start a new game for tha change to take effect.
2) The new character models should be available from tailor's shops, yes. You will also see some of them walking around the towns.
3) The mapships are new models for the sailing on the worldmap. Not nescessary, just fun. No new ship skins.
4) It looks like the M&C cannon sounds indeed don't work with the cannons mod. I thought it would! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
