Hmmm, this is a new quandary.

If you guess a vowel, and it is not in the word...should it be exempt from the 2 turn penalty, and be only one turn?

OR should it actually be a <b>3 turn </b>penalty...2 for the vowel, and an additional one for the wrong guess? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dev.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":d:" border="0" alt="dev.gif" />

We might need to put this up for a vote.

We shouldn't use Cylon as an example though, if the vote goes for the more severe penalty. But he would benifit from the lesser of rulings, if you are willing to forgive him Morgan.

I<i> think we should keep it to a two turn penalty either way. If you guess it and its correct or if its not. Everyone just has to remember that vowels are expensive, two turns a pop.</i>

Not really. You get five guesses. If you guess a letter and its in the word, then you are not charged. However, if you guess a vowel, it costs you two guesses whether its there or not. That's the way the rules stand now.

Lazarus is an evil sort so he would like to see someone get really smashed for guessing a wrong vowel by it costing three guesses. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dev.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":d:" border="0" alt="dev.gif" /> However, he would reward you for a right vowel guess as that would only cost you one guess.
 
Cylon, the theory of this game is that almost every word/name has a vowel or two, so if you are going to take the easy way out and guess a vowel, you should be penalized.

I still like the idea of whacking someone for guessing a wrong vowel...3 turns (double whammy).

But iffin you guess a vowel and it is correct, I could go either way...1 turn penality (minimum) or two, as it is now.

My vote is for 3 turns for an incorrect vowel and just 1 turn when it is correct. It makes the vowel guess all the more chancy, but gives relief for the good guesser.

What say ye guessers???

this isn't fair! with this many guessers i don't stand a chance.

i'm for the 3/1, or maybe a 3/2. the penalty being 3 makes it impossible for one person to guess two vowels.
