New Topic, Old Game..

Is this a Canadian ship that has some historical significance and many people are aware of its demise? Or is this a random ship that is unknown other than to Canadians?

Hopefully this will be more than a letter guessing game, and the content of which should have a broad base of people who have some knowledge of the word in question.

This type of content will assure that most players have some chance of a calculated guess based on the clue that is provided, and not be just a letter guessing game.

I picked this ship as it's considered one of Canada's more famous ghost ships, and also because it remains well-known in Alaska, which is where it was normally seen. There is also an ongoing search for its whereabouts, as it is now presumed sunk.

The ship in question is the<i> Baychimo</i>:

No need to get hostile over this - so I picked something nobody knows about <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> How was I supposed to know?

Well, there has been no criteria stated but as for myself I have only tried to use well known events.

I'm not being hostile in the least, sorry you took it that way.

Your word sounds like a perfectly good example of the words that are hard to guess in this type of game.

Your clue on the other hand may have had a bit more information (as you provided in your last post).

My search for Canadian Ships revealed over 500 ships that were abandonded in some fashion prior to 1950.

So maybe the spirit of the game should be to try and give good clues that will eventually lead the guesser to the answer, and not make the word too difficult to solve.

Yup <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pirate_plain.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p3" border="0" alt="pirate_plain.gif" />

Sorry for taking your post the wrong way, Lazarus <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cheers.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="cheers.gif" /> - methinks I won't come on PA! again after another night of calculus homework - this stuff really messes with your head! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I also just realized I'd been forgetting to add more hints with each reply <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> Sorry about that! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_redface.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops" border="0" alt="icon_redface.gif" />

I think I'll stick with making guesses from now on - aside from things getting rather hectic around here, the only real part of hangman I've ever liked was figuring out the clues <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> I HATE bein' the one who's makin' 'em <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
