Spanker Sheet?

yes. you thought it was the sail, right? it's the rope between the spanker boom and the stern of the ship which prevents it from swinging out too far. all ropes going from the lower corners of a sail directly downwards to wards the deck are called sheets. those going from the corner towards the stern but far further towards the stern are called a tack.
