There are a lot of new ship models released lately, as well as changed flag textures and all sorts of other stuff. What should be in the Post Build 12 mods and what should be an additional download? I think I'll be adding in all ship models; I hope I'll manage to not overwrite any of the old models.

I made many flags, there many flag sets for all tastes, we could make votes and i could made an unique flag for the release with each flag chosen, for exemple, the red navy ensign, with the blue french ensign, ect, but letting it as an additionnal download would let a more important choice to users, they would have the liberty to choose what they want in the "flag pack" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I would like to add some of your improved flags into the modpack by default, but it's impossible to add them all. And I am not going to add the American one by default. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

With all the large flags being added to ships lately, the size of the flag textures is becoming to small. The large flags look too pixelated. Could you possible make bigger and better versions for all flags?

what do you say new ships !!!
whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I'll makes tries with higher definition textures, especially on the most important ones as the red navy ensign, the american is there for a very special need <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I'll prepare a special flagall.tga.tx for that, i think i'll put the red ensign for the navy, the blue french one and a black Pirates Ahoy flag for the neutral one

Sounds good to me. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

Question to Captain Hawk: Could you please make a list of all ship models you made lately? There are so many I'm losing track of them... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
Also: Please tell me on what models you only changed the rigging, but not the skin. Maybe I can add some other skin to those models? I have several unused skin files for I don't know what ships. I can try to figure out a nice use for them... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I've uploaded "flags for build integration.zip" on the ftp, tell me what you think about those <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> Pieter et. al.

When I did the Pirate flag I got better results by increasing the file size 4X the original.
I thought that was the one I had uploaded to ftp long ago (it got trashed when it got emptied).

This is the difference between the small 342 KB file it seems everyone else is using,
and the 1,366 KB file I use.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> , looks like boosting the size helps.
@ Seb: now that we know what helps the flags look better, why not do that to the White Royal Navy Ensign <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> ?

@ Petros, you increased the size of all the flags, the entire file? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

At this point i do not have ftp client as im upgrading my linux. if in folder there is only gm files
and readme says to replace original ship then it needs installation files and new skin.
My later ships have skin + installation files.(i copied from Petros the way to do it). <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
So i have Shooner xebec that needs new skin and new one with 24 cannon that has installation files + skin.
Also is possible only hull gm file that has modded rig locators . Black hull xebec i think it needs
rest of gm files renamed to it. but no new skin file as it uses same skin file as xebec2 i think
Maybe you can rename it as Shoonerxebec2 or similiar. Also i had this same thing with manowar
but petros made installation files for it. If you have many unused skin files then you can make
many new variations of same ship. Maybe a little speed or turn rate change also. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

You might want to check the file size and compression ratio for your skins.

Stock skins in tga.tx are all 342 KB and I try to keep mine the same.

Cat's and Muddy Monkeys' are 513 KB.

Your SchoonerXebec.tga.tx and WhiteWallerFrig.tga.tx are both 2,731 KB.

You'll say that it takes me long to understand, but, how did you precisely increased the size of your flagall.tga.tx Petros? wich options should i select during conversion, or what should i do to increase that file size? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />

The size that matters is the size of the uncompressed tga image.
For compression to tx, use the same settings as the original file.

I increased the uncompressed tga image to 72 dpi resolution and an image size of 2048 X 128 pixels.

I uploaded the one I had done in October back to the new ftp as "Flagall.tga.zip"

You indeed did. I didn't add it in, because I thought it wouldn't make any difference, because the filesize was larger, but the file was more pixelated as well. Apparently, it <i>does</i> make a difference. I didn't know that. I will make sure the version in the next modpack is larger. Thanks! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

I haven't try to make it larger yet, but if this one is good, it will let me time to find how to do >< i still can't manage to make it shame on me, unless someone could do it for me with the version i upped <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

Try using the one I uploaded as the base for yours.
Replace, each flag with new high resolution ones.

Remember, the flags you replace must be sharper and more detailed than the ones you've already posted or else there won't be any difference, or reason for making the file larger (except for the Pirate one I've already done).

I just got that version, thanks a lot <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> i've already changed some flags to make them better, i think i can make the red ensign a little better <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
