No points for fame status when winning over villains?

Hi guys,
I already fighted serveral times against villains (hope that's the correct translation for the german word "Schurke").

I alway won and always chose the money as a reward. Afterwards, the villain said he will go to town xy.

My question: However, I never get "famous points" for winning over villains. Why? Do I forget something to do?

Do you mean the villians in the taverns? I think they only help you to get promotions from countries where they are wanted. (I usually take the items rather than the money, and I don't think that helps get promotions.)
