No skull/All gray

Hi.
So I got the game a few days ago, but when I try to play it I don't get the little golden skull during the loading screens, and that sort of stuff... and when I get to the main menu everything is gray/gray-ish. All the sub-menus or w/e, are just gray boxes, and so are all the NPCs and my character in-game. The rest of the stuff is just a darker color than they're supposed to be.
Does anyone know what's wrong, and what I'm supposed to do to fix it? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Sounds like missing texture files. This is with the original Age of Pirates game? Apparently some files are not installing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Another question will be, is this on a laptop or a desktop and what graphics card or cards are you using?

This is the "Age of Pirates 2: City of Abandoned Ships" game, and I'm using a GeForce 8400GS graphics card, on a stationary computer.

Have you made any modifications to the game or maybe even done something like trying to install the build mod on top of the game or some other modifications or is this the stock game?
