Pirates seems to work fine during the introduction and I am able to choose a country and blah blah blah it shows a video of a mutiny on a ship.
but then just as that video ends, it loads up the game, and you can see for a split second your ship in the actual game itself
then my computer pretty much shuts off and it displays the blue screen of death, telling me that it had to shut off windows in order to make sure that i didn't damage it permanently and stuff like that.
The file to blame: Nv4_disp.dll
So, I'm getting a crash that shuts off my computer and its pretty annoying.
I start my computer backup and it says that a 'critical error has occured' and asks me if i want to notify microsoft.
So, enough babble and heres my tech specs:
Compaq 1.4 Ghz
640 MB RAM
GeForce FX 5200 128 MB
Windows XP (with the most unfortunate Service Pack 2)
Things I have already tried:
1) Turning up all the video settings
2) Reinstalling my video card drivers
3) Installing DirectX 9.0c
4) Hitting my computer
Any help would obviously be appreciated
