On this day in 1806 Pierre-Charles-Jean-Baptiste-Silvestre de Villeneuve died in tragic circumstances. Pierre was a veteran of the battle of Trafalgar though after his arrest was released on parole, only then to find agents in wait looking to end his life.Villeneuve was sent to England (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/England) but, suspiciously, was released on parole. He lived in Sonning (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonning) and, strangely, returned to France in 1806. He attempted to return to France's service. On 22 April he was found dead at the Hotel de Patrie in Rennes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rennes) with six stab wounds on the chestHERE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre-Charles_Villeneuve)
