Gamestop now owns EB games, as that being the case; normally on "budget" pc games they (gs) dont press to terribly hard on having the units shipped to dallas tx with any kind of speed. (where there main pick/pack order fullfillment center is.) Ergo the 18th + date (they have chosen to have it shipped via ground to that location so they can sort/repack the units into the order fills of all the stores. Trying to get it at a store you can expect upto 3 days past the 18th, and in some small stores... I would hazard to say upto 2 weeks if not more before they would get around to filling a pre order... if you don't have it pre ordered your local may never get it. They will sit around at corporate and watch which stores sell copies and just keep pumping em to those locations.
I have never ordered anything from Amazon... although if they are saying the 11th/12th then I suspect they may be getting copies sent to em with a street date and will fill/release orders on that day... dunno what there turn around is. Then again they could easily just "be saying" whatever the date is... and have no product on hand at all... just ordering 30% unit over what they have in pre order... which again, means... waiting 3-4 days beyond the 12th before your check is in the mail.
In the states I do order from a place called "gogamer.com" which is EXCELLENT about getting import or low profile games in, (usually early), and there normally FAST FAST FAST about getting orders out. Although surprising enough they do not have age of pirates listed. I dropped em a note to there customer service and they sent me one back saying they are "looking into it"; my suspsicion is at this point is that there is some "lack of commitment" on this title at the moment; and I don't think atari has fully commitited itself to this release in any kinda expeditious way. As it goes Ill be keeping an eye on the usual suspects to find out which company can get the game to us in the states the quickest. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
