I tried to connect to the FTP server using Core FTP Lite (thanks for the link, Keith ) but I get only an errormessage:

My firewall is off. I can connect to other servers. I entered hostname, user and password correctly. What about the other options in the Site Manager window, like Port (21), PASV (checked), SSH (not checked)...
 
Try with PASV off, if your firewall's off.
Also, try going to start->run->ftp and hit enter.
Then type
connect whatever_the_address_is
(I forget, it may be "open").
then it will ask un and pwd.

If that works, then it's a Core FTP Lite issue, I'd guess.
(And if it is, may I recommend FileZilla, a sourceforge project.)

Well, the main thing is that I can now upload my mods somewhere and don't have to bother other people anymore. But as these are my very first steps in the whole FTP/ uploading business brace yourself for more rather.. err... basic questions <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I'm trying to access the ftp but for a probably very good reason I can't (i have been able to go on the ftp this afternoon but not now... grrr )

So, how can I find the file to make the island work with the nk b13?

I have that problem when my firewall is turned on. When turned off, it does work. You could try that, if you have a firewall turned on.
 
I tryed but i still cant see anything

could it be because im on a network (i beleve my netgear router had a build in one but i dont realy know anything about that

How big an attachment will your email address support, fudge dragon?

Also, have you tried Passive Mode for ftp access? That's how one usually gets around a (hw or sw) firewall.
 
The FTP-place is so filled up with things. Is it possible to do anything to clean up that place? And what are all those new files? Textures, ships or .... I want to to know before downloading because I can only use modem where I live.

Hrmmm, why is the FTP empty tonight? I logged in yesterday to snag a file and everything was up and running fine...

I tried to download petros' files (the ones that start 50_) and they downloaded ok but when I try to extract them it says compression type unknown. To me they look like ordinary zip files but is there something I am missing?
 
This might save some one some minor headaches. I found out that those 50_ files even though they SAY are ZIP files they can only be extracted by Win RAR. Well, there might be others but I have my WINRAR set so it will only extract rar files and somehow it magically extracted those 50_ files even though it will not unzip my other zip files. Go figure?! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> Anyhow, if you want those 50_ files bottom line is you need WINRAR. Sorry I didn't see this earlier!

Those are Zip files <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> zipped with Winzip 9 with maximum compression on.
I guess that setting is not compatible with all versions of Winzip. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
