Yesterday i found a cover of Heroes of Might and Magic IV sea theme which is basically the same as the tavern theme on the Pirates of the Caribbean game.

Indeed I vaguely recall hearing about that before.
I think that particular theme might be some common folk tune or such. Not sure though.
I don't mind. It's a really nice tune and I like it.

One minor detail - when did Yogitea release their "Ecume et vague de l' ame"? I've only been able to track it down to an album on Amazon dated 2010.

In PoTC, the music is "Town_Exploration02.ogg", and is in the stock game dating back to 2003.

Of course, they could both be based on the same, much older folk tune!

Of course they are based on the same old folk song.

Though time, the original composer must have been forgotten but I believe Ecume et vague de l' ame is supposed to be a close rendition of the original.
