Pirates runs slowly after the first `sea-fight`

Captain Apu

When I start the game everything is well and the game speed is OK. But after the first `sea-fight`, the game slows dramatically down. All actions show only in `slow-motion`. Although I changed the `video-settings` to a very low standard I wasn't able to solve this problem. I run pirates on a AMD Duron 1,29 GHz with 320 MB RAM. I use an onboard NVIDIA Riva TNT 2 Model 64 Grafic card.

Did anybody have the same or similar problems? Any help is highly appreciated!

Thanks a lot in advance!

Are you sure you don't have your telescope on (right mouse click)? That would slow the game down... Other than that, I cannot imagine a reason why it would do this...

No, the telescope is off. But the game speed is as slow as I it is with the activated telescope.

Try turn'n down yer ingame video settings,ye probly see a dramatic improvement in speed <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Try to get current driver for your onboard video card.

For Geforce or TNT chipsets : <a href="http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp" target="_blank">http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp</a>

to follow up on what skull said...i'm not sitting in front of the game so maybe someone else can chime in but there are a couple of options in the video settings for the game that are not set by default. unless you have an uber machine they can dog your system if you enabled them. something to do with lighting (i think) and one other one. anyone? check to see if either of these are ON and turn them off..
