Please help with church night-watch AND explain how the officers perks work

1. About the night -watching the church for 3 nights:
I fast-ravel to the church slightly before 00.00 h and fast-run the time. At 00.00 a screen appears saying the morning crept from the bed (or something like this) and it is 7.00 already. I did it not for 3 but for 4 nights in succession and the priest still says I must watch for 3 nights!!!
Please advice!

2. I cannot understand how exactly the officers perks (skills) work

For example when I click on some skill it usual says "The XXX skill can only be active if there is an officer (carpenter, treasurer etc) and he has the XXX skill"

What exactly this means? That the hero can take this skill (and use it even if it is taken before) ONLY if there is a corresponding officer with this skill? So every skill must be taken twice - once for the officer and after that for the Hero?

2. Bad translation. For a perk to be active either you or an appropriate officer must have it, that's all there is to it. The only tricky part is that each officer position only enables related perks - if your bosun has navigation perks, for example, they won't do you any good. Either a navigator or yourself need them.

1. I did it. It seems the problem was in the fast-traveling. I fast-traveled, then went out and entered the church again and so every night and this time the quest was successful. It looks the game doesn't count fast-travelng as "entering" at least in this case (although the quest does not fail).

I watched 3 nights and quest wasn't done. Then I tried watch another one and then quest was fulfilled.
This is only time I took this quest and I don't intend to take it again because it's very boring

Actually you can speed that time right by.

When you have the quest to guard the church. Enter the church as close to midnight as you can. Then turn on Time Compression (R Key) and turn up the accelleration by pressing the + key on the keypad.

Makes the time just fly by.

Not exactly. On land time compress is max x3 while on board is x8. When I was doing this quest, I went to the port and go to my ship. But I didn't sail anywhere, just used this x8 time compress and when was close to midnight, I went to the church.
Even with this, quest was very boring.
