I've been collecting all of the tools and extensions that have been posted here ,so i made a modding tools pack.My first pack (v1.0&v1.1) ware kinda bugy and unsorted ,so now i made a new and much better pack that i wanna post here (16MB).

Sure ,there is also a complete list of the tools when you install the pack ,but any way here is the list:

Tools Directory contains extensions for Photoshop ,3D Max4.x ,Maya + a few other stuff that was in the zip.

Downloaded and opened. Sorry that I didn't think to do this sooner; thought it was just an archive.

Now, Ravenheart, I appreciate your effort at centralizing all the tools, but there are some _real_ problems with the execution.

-copyrighting everything Cryo Team. What does Cryo Team have to do with the tools?

-including a lot of tools that other people made without asking their permission--especially nVidia's DDS tool (which I think is probably contrary the license agreement) and HABWare's obj2max and vice versa tools.

-blithely claiming everyone and everything as PA members, when frex Duke Surak'nar's posted about five times here in the last year and similarly with some others; and affiliated not with PA but PMT. Esp. the wiki, which is simply linked from here.

-And lastly and not terribly important, you have about three copies of every program. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> In zips, extracted, extracted somewhere else...bloats the filesize.

So if you're serious about this tool I have some suggestions (well, not really suggestions; more like, if you don't do this, a number of people will kindly or not so kindly ask that you remove their content).

First and most important, ASK THE PEOPLE FIRST. You have to ask permission of someone before you `re-release` their work, _even_ if you give them credit. For `non-POTC` community stuff, read the license agreement and see whether you legally _can_ redistribute the stuff...and this is not "Hi, I'm including your work, kthxbye", this is "May I include your work?" and if they say no, you don't.

Make it clear what work is `Cryo-team`'s (the installer?) and what's not.

Make clear which work is whose in the tools list, and have links to each person's `net-abode` (i.e. PA! for the PA folks, www.thelib.com or www.piratescrossroads.com for the PMT folks)

Also making snide comments about the tutorials isn't too helpful (especially when said snide comments have spelling errors).

does anybody know where i can find obj2max and vice versa plugins for 3dstudio max version 3? or does anywone know where or can post a link to rexmans tools, i think he had plugins for max 3, anyway i used to have em but they been lost in some formating storm any help is appreciated already
 
hey ravenheart, another very useful modding tool is scheffnow's dialogmerge. i don't know where to download it though, does anyone know?
 
IIRC Scheffnow pulled it from download because he's updating it. We haven't seen him lately, so it's anybody's guess what's going on with it.

I also think you would want permission from him to put a link up if you have it...
