POTC:NH on an emulator.

I've been trying to get POTC to work on a windows emulator, Wine, but I keep getting runtime errors when I activate the engine.
Has anyone here tried something similar or been able to get POTC to run on a non-windows machine?
As of right now I am assuming it is impossible but I was hoping anyone had some experience or luck with this kind of thing.

I recall one person who had the game running on a Mac of some kind, but don't remember who it was nor any of the specifics.

Can you enable error logging as per the FAQ? http://forum.piratesahoy.net/index.php/topic/14915-build-mod-and-forum-faq/
Maybe that will give us some more information that may allow you to get it to run after all.
