Problem with Build 12

first of all my congratulations to all people who were involved in this build. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

I installed it on my german version, started it and got the new menue. But after starting "new game" i get the screen "loading" and after it a black screen and the game stops.

So i grabbed it once more in a neutral folder and switched the files step by step, but i got the same results.

What is wrong?

In the end of the installation i got each time the message: "could not find buildsetting.h in c:prog...bethesda....PotC" and the download finished uncompletly. This file is in the following folder "programs", so i copied it into the main folder, started the installation once more and it finished.

But it didn´t finish my prob.

Has it something to do with the european version? I have run the modhelper, but i get the message, that the program cannot find any local files.

Hmmm.........any ideas?
 
Hmm. Maybe the `Euro-ized` BS.h wasn't in the install?

Anyhow, you only need BuildSettings.h in your Program folder. But once you put it back, open it up and see at the top what EURO is set to. If it's set to 0, that's your problem; set it to 1.

If it's set to 1, then we're in deeper trouble. :]
 
Weird.
Can you check resourcetexturesloading and tell me what folders there are in there?

And can you open engine.ini and set tracefilesoff to 0, and post the logs?
 
Alright,

1. two folders - German, Spanish

2. setting tracefilesoff to 0, starting game, big crash in the new mainscreen
setting back to 1, blackscreen after starting new game

3. do you want the complete content of engine.ini? it's very large for here

Maybe, that you have to insert some files manually. I had to add PotCPROGRAMCharactersinitUsurers.c and ItemTraders.c for example. But if the problem is that the program need a file, it is written to logfiles. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Same thing that I have. Installation complains about Buildsettings.h and game goes black after starting new game. Last time it worked was because I had Build 11 files, but removed them. Caused the the fact that I could not speak to any vendors, and game locked when I met Rheims at Silehards place. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

I am having a simlar problem to the original poster. The difference is that I have the English version and my dowmload went perfectly. What is with this?
 
Well, maybe you have the US/UK version of PotC, but setting it to EURO in BuildSettings.h can't worsen the problem. On the contrary, it might even help, IIRC. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I think for now the (temporary) solution is to install build 11, and _then_ install build 12.
I don't know for sure if that'll work, but it can't hurt.
