problem

Severniae

Landlubber
I have a small problem, whenever i seem to go anywhere, my reputation sinks down to 'horror of the high seas' - i took out a loan and havent paid it in ages - could that be a reason? im not sure why this is happening - it goes down no-matter what, and its making the game-playhorendous!!!

any help would be great

Thanks all

Severniae,

Welcome to the site! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

That sounds about right, if you don't pay back your loan then your reputation starts to plummet. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Are you playing the game with one of the Builds? After repaying the loan, if you can, in the stock game you can donate to the church to get your rep back up. Also, when you can get escort or delivery missions again, if you complete them your rep also goes back up. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

In the Builds, going out of the cities and rescuing ladies being harrassed by thugs is a good way to get your rep back up. I had heard that donating to the church in the Builds is a less effective way of getting your rep back up, but that may have been fixed.

Let us know what version of the game you are playing and if this helps you out or not. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

Theres also tonnes of free money to be had, from the redmond priest, if you talk to him right. It both boosts your rep and gives you cash, what more could a captain ask for?

I just save damsels in distress. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/diomed.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dio" border="0" alt="diomed.gif" /> Cap'n Rico finds it highly entertaining that these ladies never learn not to venture deep into the woods of Oxbay, heheh. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

Yes, just sit in the harbor when there's an attack and wait for the fort to sink the ships (try to sink them yourself for the bonuses) and then rescue swimming sailors. I spend a lot of time doing that to make up for ...ummm... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dev.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":d:" border="0" alt="dev.gif" /> ...indiscretions... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
