Quest for fixing these damn ropes

Cylon13

Super Zealot
This place is specially for fixing/adding ropes on ships what look unfinished without them. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Here's Privateer with fixed/added ropes, I did not correct the ropes between masts ..should I correct them? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huhh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:k" border="0" alt="huhh.gif" />
<img src="http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc220/Cylon13/Pirvateersropes.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

they don't need correcting, actually. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_confused.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="icon_confused.gif" /> might be good to add a few more though. i'd look a lot at rope diagrams first though.

that is jack sparrow's flag <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

By the way, didn't Originale game have ropes?

Yes it did ..but something screwed them because almost ALL ships in our game/mod have unfinished look just because of the lack of ropes. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_confused.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="icon_confused.gif" />

A lot of ships have had modifications to their rigging or complete rigging replacements, which caused rope mismatches. Result: errors in the log files and missing ropes onscreen. They can be fixed as explained in Kevin Atlanta's tutorial <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=110391" target="_blank">here</a>.

I know. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Wtf? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
" The error returned was:

Sorry, the link that brought you to this page seems to be out of date or broken."

That was weird. I re-found it again <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=11039&hl=" target="_blank">here</a> and fixed the tutorials thread. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

Is there a place where all ropes are shown on ship types so I can set the most important ones up correctly on the some ships in our game? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

And btw ..how do I set my characters height? Setting the height in models.c doesn't even work ..I tried many times, hence I even set it to 0.1 and nothing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

Changing the model height might be possible with Inez Dias' tool. I also tried using the model.height line in initModels.c and got the same results as you: no effect.

Well ..sucks. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
I was hoping to change the height of me fleshy character. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Anyways ..the other brig what I fixed a bit is Brig MM (the one with a white stripe). <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Please upload your fixes. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
Why don't you try to use Inez Dias' tool and see what it can do? I think resizing characters shouldn't even be all that hard. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Allright.. I'll upload them maybe later. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Uploaded. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />
Btw I can't seem to be able find the button of set size of the model in Inez Dias Model Screwer. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_confused.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="icon_confused.gif" />

Ok I got it but those legs and hands are getting wierd (in game) after scaling it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> Tell me everything I need to do in order to get the thing to size I want. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" />

I can't. I never did it myself; I just know the button to do it exists. I suppose it's got something to do with selecting the "Scale animation also" box and then saving the animation and making sure your resized model uses the rescaled animation.

Is it the .ani or .an animation file what I need to rescale with the model? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> ..and most importantly how do I get the animation file into the Inez dias Tool?

See attached screenshot. It must have something to do with that.

I know. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_confused.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="icon_confused.gif" /> I already tryed it the way yer picture tells ..and that's how me character's arms are going really wierd when in attack mode (when holding a weapon). <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> I think I'll try it WITHOUT the "scale the animation also" thing.

Be sure to have a look <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?s=&showtopic=11388&view=findpost&p=239020" target="_blank">here</a>.
