I posted a shorter version of this already in the Tips & Tricks section, but decided to make a new topic in the apprpopriate section as well.
If there´s one thing we´re a bit lacking in PotC is things to do after the Main quest (which, I hope is still playable with the new islands), as I have realized.
Now, remembering - don´t ask me how or why, perhaps because I remembered there´s a Hook skin in Pieters mod pack - there were pirates in Peter Pan, I reread the book online the other night <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" /> and ended up wondering "Now, what would happen if Hook and Sparrow ever were to meet?" I mean, they´re complete opposites (Hook seems to be modelled a lot after Bartholomew Roberts, and Sparrow, well, he´s the way he is), so it´s a great opportunity for getting hilaroius dialogues into the game. We already got a lot of those, but more won´t hurt, or would they? But just what might bring them together? The solution was simple - a really big venture, that no one could do on his own. And which one would be the grandest coup of them all? There my latest adventure playing Pirates! Gold came to my mind: Capturing the Treasure Fleet in the harbour of Havanna. As far as I know, Havanna is the only city in the Carribean that has not been plundered by pirates in the 17th century (it has been plundered in the 16th century, however). So, something really big has to happen. Of course, neither Hook or Sparrow would get the idea of joining forces to do something like that, here my vanity (and ego, without the "alter" prefix <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

He sits in the tavern of Tortuga while his ship is careened, smoking his pipe and enjoying his wine (he´s a wine drinker) as *Nathaniel Hawk* (or whatever the player´s name may be), accompanied by Danielle, steps in. Having heard of his - Nathaniel´s - adventures with Silehard, he decides to propose this guy a venture of such daring that no one ever thought about it, the said raid on Havanna. Even both of them are of course not in the position of attacking one of the most fortified strongholds of the whole Carribean, so Grimmelshausen gathers together the most notorious pirate captains of their time as companions, Sparrow and Hook. First I envisioned something like the preparations for the Maracaibo raid in "Captain Blood" (the book), the ships setting out to capture more ships to transfer troops, but as we can have no more than four ships in a fleet, I limit it to the three captains (Grimmelshausen, Hook and Sparrow) to join Nathaniel. Once landed in a bay a short distance from Havanna, Grimmelshausen leaves his ship and takes a good part of the crew to attack from the land side, while the other three attack from sea and prevent the treasure galleons from escaping. The Redmont harbour would be the perfect scenery for this, the fort on a land sprit outside, protecting a huge bay serving as a harbor. Now, imagine that harbour filled with a couple of galleons, with some battleships mixed in, protected by the strongest fort to be found in the whole area.
For the ships, well, Grimmelshausen uses his corvette (as mentioned above), Sparrow the Pearl (what else, after all?) and for Hook, I think something menacing would be in order, a frigate (in the book the "Jolly Roger" is a brig, but that´s a bit too small for my taste), like <a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v94/markwalters/POTC/frigate.jpg" target="_blank">this one</a>, but a bit redone, the blue stripes on the sides away and the blue stern decoration changed to gold, perhaps (something I wanted to have done for quite some time, as a matter of fact).
I believe it could be done, in the essence of it it´s not different from the Clair Larouse and the "Capture of Greenford" quests.
So, what do you think? Shall I keep it in mind or dump it into the trash bin?
