Questions from a Returning Player (New Horizons Mod)

Ahoy there Mateys!

I hope this thread may also be helpful for other fellow players.

I want to play again the New Horizons megaMOD. I recently purchased the GoF Maelstrom Engine on Itch.io (As I knew it was a Community effort, I thought It was worthy). However. when I first played the Game, various years back around 2019-2020, there was only the New Horizons Mod in Build 14, on Moddb. I didn't had much time to play, back then, and also, didn't like too much the Mechanics of the Player movement on the World, maybe inherited from the Base game (Sea Dogs 2/Pirates of the Caribbean).
However. I have been recently investigating by myself, and Now there's many versions of the Mod:

New Horizons Remastered
Beyond New Horizons
New Horizons Refined Edition

But I still don't understand... These are some of my questions.

Which are the Main/Key differences between each version?

Which is the Most complete version (I.E. Has more content in Characters, Ships, Graphics, Mechanics, etc)?

Which version is easier to make personal modifications by the Player/User? (Also for users that aren't too well versed on Moddin' Games, but want to learn)

(I don't know in which Forum this thread belongs, as there are some general questions about the Multiple versions of the New Horizons MOD)

New Horizons Remastered has been abandoned - take a look at those downloads, they date back to 2017.
The download for Beyond New Horizons is dated 2025, so it's also out of date. There's apparently a newer version somewhere but I don't know where.
So out of those, New Horizons Refined Edition seems to be the most complete in terms of ship and character models, and presumably the stories and quests to use them.

There's also Build 14, which has the latest updates for models, quests and storylines, but doesn't have as nice graphics as the later versions. You'll need to find a copy of the original "Pirates of the Caribbean" game to use this, though. It's not available on Steam because it's tied to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" film franchise from Disney.
