Ransack questions

Does just my game crash when I try to ransack a city? The thing I always do is, when I ransack the town, I go the shipyard and get the free ship(s) to be able to haul more cargo... Then when I go to the store and select the ship I want to load the cargo in, my game instantly crashes... Is there any known fix or workaround about this problem? It really frustrates me from time to time :p

Free ships after ransacking a town in PotC? Uh? I am not aware of any such feature existing. o_O

Well, the shopkeeper has free goods, ships are free as well then, no?
Don't know, need to assemble a fleet to capture a town in order to test if it's true.

Are we sure we are talking about PotC here? Unmodded? Or with Build 14 Beta 3.2?

Yep, this happens to me on the current Build 14 Beta 3.2. And yes, it IS possible, after ransacking the town, to take the ship(s) from the town's shipyard for free. And when I try to load it, the game crashes unfortuneatly :/

Hmm. It sounds like no one ever tried to do that before. What happens if you stay out of the shipyard?

You mean only load my primary ship? The crash does not happen then... It only happens when I take the ship(s) from the ransacked town... Everyone likes hauling more cargo :p :D

Sorry it took me so long to respond, I just got back home, busy day lol :p... Anyway, here are my logs and my savegame, if anyone wants to try something out... I took the Cutter and the Snow Brig from the shipyard in Grand Turk, after I ransacked it... I'm really stuck with this thing now... Good luck to everyone who tries to fix this, or find a workaround or something :)

The compile.log says your menu buttons are not working. Go to the store and look in the inventories and the buttons should start working again.

The error.log says there are problems in the shipyard.

We will have to wait for a coder to look at it for a fix.

I don't think "free ships from the shipyards" is an intentional feature. Sounds like a bug to me.
@Levis, do you reckon you could double-check this one?

I've had the game crash when trying to loot goods from the store into my existing ships. It was so bad that I'd save game before going into the store, try to load the ship, then if the game didn't crash I'd leave the store, save game again, and repeat until I'd filled all my ships with as much gold as I could.

But that was Beta 3, whcn I was playing "Tales of a Sea Hawk" and was advanced enough to have a ship capable of taking on a fort. It will be some time before I can try it in Beta 3.2...

Update: Beta 3.2, current version, playing "Assassin", and a nice new battleship allowed me to raid Martinique. The problem is still there. The game sometimes crashed when I tried to open one of my ships to stuff it with free gold from the store, and reliably crashed when I tried to open the sloop of war in slot 4 for that purpose. Eventually I settled for just filling one ship with gold.

Due to already having 4 free ships due to raiding, I couldn't check if the shipyard was also giving away free stuff. Maybe next time... ;)
