IncredibleHat sent me the following PM. Please give your views on this. I think he does have a point.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->I've noticed a lot of the same questions coming on across multiple forums. I believe this is because there simply are too many all dealing with basically the same thing.

If you were open to a slight re-org of the forums (no posts would be lost), then you could take a look at the following layout, and do what you like with it:

<!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->

Some reasonings:

There are TWO Build Bugs forums. One is really burried, and one is at the base level of the build mod forum. These two should be "merged" together and put at the base level of the "POTC Build Mod" forum. Too many of the same issues are being posted in both, or either, and I dont think people really know what one to post in. So, why not just merge them? That way you can put up the important stickies in just one Bugs Discussion forum for people to use.

The "Build Beta" forum is superfluous, and misleading. Because more people post into the "POTC Build Mod" forum itself. So, maybe you should simply merge the "Build Beta" topics into the base "POTC Build Mod" forum. Then eliminate duplicate outdated stickies.

Don't really need a Tips & Tricks forum seperate from Gameplay forum. Just merge those two, and be done with it.

"POTC Modding" should be strictly for any modding discussions that do NOT pertain in any shape or form to the build mod, or mods to be put into the build mod. Otherwise, its just a duplicate of the alpha & brainstorming forum. Personally, I would just suggest merging POTC Modding into the Alpha & Brainstorming forum.

ANYWAY... your call, and if you can get the piratesahoy people to do the changes. IPB has powerful forum merging tools, that are simple to use, so I see no problems in merging or moving forums around.

Hi Pieter,

Sounds reasonable to me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

The only thing that I would say though, is that I use POTC Modding when I'm working up a new mod only because I don't necessarily assume that it will automatically be up for inclusion in the Build. After all, not all mods end up going into the Build. Having said that, I do agree that it would simplify things to have POTC Modding and Alpha & Brainstorming merged.

Yeah, a seperate "DIY Modding" forum could benefit being outside of the build forums.

Technical is more for the "how do I get this blastid thing working right on my machine???". Its more of a troubleshooting forum that isnt regarding a bug in the code, or a new mod, or how to make new stuff.

basically technical should have a huge big sticky of "HOW TO INSTALL BUILD MODS", with sub stickies on how to install Build 12.1, and the betas, and even like Build 11 and 10.

Could be easily done,by merging topics,makes sense Pieter <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
