Regular boarding don´t work in Modpack version

Hi, all. I don´t know where I would write it so as any modders took attention to this issue. Regular boarding doesn´t work in Modpack version and I think it is caused by the rush mod that appears in the course of fight on the board and doesn´t disappear after all enemies are defended on the upper deck. In Build 12.1 version this modding work well because of disappearing or complete absence this rush mod in the course of boarding fight. In functioning regular boarding some little opened padlock must appear in left upper corner of the screen after defeating enemies and after pushing spacebar you can proceed further. I think maybe only this removing of this rush mod from here could cause restoration of functioning of this regular boarding. That's very strange.
Boarding works very well on my game (modpack 24.10.05 is installed without new island mod). And my officers and I uses the rushmode, too. I never had the problem you discribe. Are you sure this bug related to the rushmode?
 
No, I am not sure. But it seems to me it is the similar as in the situation in towns where when you are in rush mod you can´t use any icon for fast moving. I am talking about boarding when enemy don´t surrender but fight. Are we talking about the same issue? This boarding practically never work for me in any version of Modpack. The only thing I can do when I invade some larger ships and defeat the enemies on the upper deck is load the game and spoiling of all of this my endeavour. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
 
What other boarding situations do you know except boarding a ship?
And yes, we're talking about the same situation. But it seems, that you're the only one with that kind of problem. And that's the strange thing about it.
Do you use a special boardergroup model or something? I've had a little problem, when I use another boarding group model than the ones that defined in the BuildSetting.h.
Sometimes my boarding group don't follow me to the enemy deck, so only me and my officer fight with the enemy. And sometimes after winning the fight on the first deck and proceeding to the next deck I've had a crash and get back to the desktop.
But when I used the defined boarding groups like "marine" or "killer" or "blackman" everything is in order as it should be and boarding works very well.
 
It seems to me I am not the only one who has problem with it. Pieter said someone else had or has some problem with it too. Some people can overlook this problem becase they for example invade only weaker ships which surrender every time or don´t ever concentrate on boarding but rather sink the ships and perform smuggling for earning money. And I am not using anything unusual what about boarding concerns. In game with using Build 12.1 only it works normally for me but in any version of Modpack it never or almost never worked for me. Maybe I should something readjust in the game but I don´t know what could help here. Maybe you have US version of the game and I use European version of the game, I really don´t know why it doesn´t work for me <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
 
Nope, I use the german version of the game.
When it doesn't related with different boarding partys then I just don't know.

I would be very glad if this boarding would work for me because it is very amuzing when you are able with your frigate attack for example some MOW and capture it. But it is really strange because just before a while I did another unsuccesful atempt for boarding and I stayed on the deck a little longer after my winning fight and rush mod suddenly disappeared but anyway I couldn´t do anything and proceed nowhere but only loading my game again.

By the way are you German? If yes, so how are you looking forward at Gothic III? What do you actually mean with the "rush mod"? There is no such thing as a "rush mod". Could you show through a screenshot what you mean? I mean Nathaniel´s and his officers´ icon stay red as it is in cause when are endangered in town. This red icon stay read usual after winning on the upper deck but last time this red colour even disappeared after finishing fight after some time but anyway I couldn´t proceed anyhow. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
 
Ah, ok, then it was a totally mistake. I thinked you were talking about the "rush" abillity, that causes more damage in sword fighting but switch off the defense for 30 seconds. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

And yes, I'm german. But I've only had a short look at Gothic 3. But I've never played one of the Gothic games so I don't know if it's worth waiting for.

You are German and you didn´t play Gothics ? This is unebelieavable. They are both really great games and I hope the numer three will be even better. For me they are better than Morrowind <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" />
 
Yes, Gothic 1&2 have a lot of atmosphere, credible individual characters and a lively gameworld.

Re: your boarding problem: if I understand you right you can not proceed to the next boarding deck/scene after killing all enemies cause the padlock icon doesn't show, yes? I had that once myself, and it took me some time to realize that the padlock isn't necessary. You just have to press your "action" key. Usually that is the spacebar, but maybe your controlsettings are changed?
 
Hi, Charles. I described it in my first post quite detailed. Yes, I know it very well, this action key must be push always but believe me nothing happens in my game after pushing this action key. In Buil 12.1 all worked well. If you would be willing to look at this my problem a little deeply I would be very greatful to you for that. Maybe I could send you some my older save where I sail a frigate yet and boarding was very ususal for me. Now I have Ship of the Line and boarding isn´t so actual because either all my enemies are sunk or they surrender. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />
 
Are there any unlooted enemy corpses? That would cause the playericon to stay red cause the enemies are still around (even if they are dead). And as long as there are still enemies on the deck you can't proceed to the next deck.

Should that be your problem it can be solved easily: loot the corpses or disable the corpsemod in buildsettings.h

No, those settings should ruin your game.

If you want to use any corpsmode setting (other than off which is 0), then
you must turn lootdead off!
 
Hi, Charles and Petros. I just tried adjusting LOODTDEAD_ON 1 and CORPSMODE 0 and it works! I didn´t know that. I think it should be explain more detailed in BuildSettings.h as I suggested to Pieter already. CORPSE_MODE 3 should work though, shouldn't it? Or maybe a different corpsemode would. The mod is FAIK completely allright. You just have to clear the deck of all enemy corpses to proceed to the next deck. I.e. loot them all. That's what every decent privateer would do anyway, isn't it ?
