anyone who's been around gaming knows this will be just one of many, many erroneous release dates from people who think they know but don't (and i don't mean you DJ1 but the person/entity who posted the preview)

Don't be so gullible my friends...you all know that the first date given is NEVER the date it ends up being.
Typically for a reliable company like Firaxis, take the original date and add two, maybe three months.
For slightly shadier companies, go ahead and tack on 6 months or more.
Then there is always the risk of the souce code being stolen just weeks before it goes gold, thus pushing it back a year or so. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock:" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" />
All I'm sayin' is that we will be VERY lucky to get this game for Christmas.
 
A few month late game from Firaxis is not what I think will happen. Maybe a few weeks, but I don't recall waiting a few months.

You misunderstood -- or perhaps I wasn't clear. What I'm saying is, you should be very lucky, because November 16th is the confirmed date.

We should get the `pre-order` program in place by September, but I'm hoping to release some information about it in the next two weeks.

a little of both, someone said we'd be lucky to get it by christmas and you said we should all be lucky (meaning lucky at christmas time)

Beta will start in early September. Beta signups for Avast subscribers should start within the next few days.

"Paging Mr. Keith... paging Mr. Keith..." I can't seem to get in touch with the site admins. I wanted to send Keith and/or William some official boxshots for the game, as well as more info about the Limited Edition. Keith? William? You guys out there?
