No longer with the one CCC (it was him, wasn´t it?) has made, now it´s truly the most beautiful sword ever to be seen.

There aren't like rare swords anymore? My entire officers staff has buson's choice, can't find better ones? (considering this style of sword)
 
If you go up in level, your enemies and tavern officers get better swords as well, so you might come across quite a lot of people carrying Bosun´s Choices or Solingen Rapiers and the like.
And the Bosun´s Choice is the pinnacle of the Cutlass class.
 
Most of my bosun's are bought in the shop, 2 bad there aren't any better :p Would like my cap to have a better sword then his crew :p

Indeed, that is the most important stat to me aswell. Now to think, shall i give my crew the same sword :p

Just must have thought along the same lines!
 
I'm so glad someone FINALLY made the change - because the Solingen is my fave, and while the Needle model is nice, the Silverleaf is really the nicest... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Well, that'll be useful. Can a blacksmith make any sword a "Fine" sword, because my solingen rapier is at excellent and has 98% block. I was told it had 100% block. and besides, I cant find any "Fine" anything. Even Toff gave me a badly worn Nicholas Sharpe blade, and I had to get it done in a blacksmith. Also, in the house besinde the residence on Isla Muelle, I found average Cardinal's Guard and average Solingen at level 2. Is that supposed to happen?
 
It can happen. Those random finds are exactly that - random. IMO, I think finding these better swords should be linked to whether you are a master swordsman or not.

The blacksmith should be able to upgrade your excellent blade. The Douwesen blacksmith - so far the only one I´ve met - always provides me with excellent blades, no trouble. But I might need another model for him, something more blacksmith-like (now, how does a "typical" blacksmith look, I wonder), I took playing with Nathaniel Hawk (or Blaze Devlin - why this guy´s got two names is still something of a mystery to me. Any explanations?) again. I like him. Perhaps I can find some quest for my Grimmelshausen character, something like the Clair Larouse quest, maybe, having him along as a partner (but without the possibility to get him in the crew - he´s an independent captain and he stays that).

I think I´ve got it: He´ll propose an enterprise against Havanna (provided we´ll get it some day into the game, else we´ll take another rich, well-defended Spanish port - isn´t Santo Domingo in already?), along with a couple of other pirate captains. Maybe we could get some of the most notorious ones together, we´ve got a Sparrow and a Hook (albeit without hook) modell already. Alone seeing those two characters - Hook and Sparrow, I mean - clash is definitely an interesting idea, as they seem to be complete opposites, from a character point of view, a great opportunity for a lot good dialogues.
Well, the idea is something like the "Capture of Greenford" quest, Grimmelshausen takes a lot of crew to do a land attack (he´s been an infantry officer, after all), while the rest attacks from sea. A location like Redmont harbor would be perfect. the castle outside on a land sprit and the harbour bay filled with galleons - the Treasure Fleet - that has to be kept from escaping. It would be something for after completing the Main Quest - after all, Nathaniel has to prove himself a man worth of the honor.

Hawk has two names because Devlin was his original name, but apparently Akella changed it when Disney got into the picture (not sure why). Devlin <i>will</i> appear in AoP as a main character.
