Santísima Trinidad (Spanish Navy Ship)

I've got this working in Build 14, with a couple of tweaks to the values in "Ships_init.c" to make it a bit slower than the other 1st rate ships. There is, however, a slight problem, and it may apply to other versions too. I don't know if BNH and NHRE use the same "system.log" file as B14; if not, see if you can find some equivalent in whichever version you're playing. In my "system.log":
Bad rope data for rope: (rope num = 85) (begin group=-1, end group=0)

As you presumably know, ropes are defined by a pair of locators, "ropeb*" and "ropee*, the "*" being the rope's number. They don't need to be on the same part; it's common for one to be on a mast and the other to be on a spar ("rey"), another mast, or the hull. But both need to be there somewhere. If there's a "ropeb" with no corresponding "ropee", or vice versa, one of these "Bad rope data" messages is generated. Here, for example, there's a "ropeb85" somewhere but no "ropee85".

Could you have a look at the ship and either add the missing locators or remove the unmatched ones?

Mmmm... i think its problem of the pass to the old engine, cuz to make the ship, i used all the entites of th HMS Victory model, all the ropes, sails, locators and everything from the Victory, i added some locators, like 20 or 30 more fore the cannons and more for the stay sails.
I started using blender and the tx convertor with NHRE, so i dont know if the old B14 works different from the refined edition

There certainly are some differences between NHRE, B14, and for that matter BNH. But ship models must work the same otherwise "Santisima_Trinidad" would not work in B14 at all.

The "Bad rope" messages don't actually prevent the ship from working. They just clutter up the log file and should not be there on a properly rigged ship. B14 used to have a lot of ships with the problem and there was a lot of effort made to either remove the unpaired locators or find somewhere to put the other end to complete the ropes.

Can you find "system.log" in NHRE? Or some other "system" log file? See if it has any similar messages.

In any case, those unpaired locators certainly won't be doing your ship any good. I haven't found them all, and in any case I can view "mast2.gm" and "mast3.gm" using GM Viewer but I can't edit them with TOOL, and I don't have Blender, so I can't correct them. But I can say that "ropeb100" and "ropee101", for example, are both on "mast2.gm". In "HMS_Victory", "ropee100" and "ropeb101" are on a staysail which no longer exists because you've put a different sail on "mast3.gm". So "ropeb100" and "ropee101" won't do anything except cause messages in a log file.

Well, good new hehe, in NHRE it was taking the same errors, but i fixed them, i was some missing ropes that some had a beginning but not an end or vice versa in the models of the mast and main ship. Santisima Fix has the fixed models, so you can now try them, hope it works hehe

Here you can see the system.log without any errors.

Thanks, @Captains Poega! :cheers I'll try that out when I have time.

In the meantime, the older model "SP_FirstRate" needs a new name. Its description still says "Santisima Trinidad class 1st Rate". Since there's now a proper Santisima Trinidad, I'm changing "SP_FirstRate" to be "Santa Ana class 1st Rate" in B14. Most of the class were built in Havana, making it particularly appropriate for a Caribbean themed game.

Update: the new model files do indeed fix the problem. :onya After copying them into place, the ship no longer gives "Bad rope" messages in B14.

Next question - can you see crew walking around the deck when in sailing mode? Not when docked - that's using a different, generic deck model. In sailing mode, I tried copying the updated walk files over and although I can walk around the deck, there's nobody else. By comparison, on most other ships, including the "Victory" variants, there is a visible deck crew during sailing.
