sea traps

Ahoy there, I been thinking of adding some islands to the game, but not as islands but as sand bars and shouls and reefs and also modifing the orginal islands to give some sand bars and reefs and such, and add a new challange for us captians out there or as a trap for our prey or a means of escape from an unfair and impossible to win battle by luring your emeny to run aground. any advice on how to add an island would be great

i think it might be possible to copy an island and submerge it for the most part, but i'm not sure. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Sounds like a nice idea in any case. Perhaps you could add those things to the current islands in the same way forts are added. The forts are seperate models added through locators. Might work. Not sure if there will be collision detection though, which would be sort-of crucial if it is to add some gameplay value. But in any case it would look nice! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

there are a few sandbanks and reefs in the game that i know of:

entrance of antigua passage, on the left.

exit from QC (rand aground there once with a manowar)

eastern sandy tip on hispaniola.

I hear that collision properties are a little confusing any hints?
and as soon as I have something I let ye know!, But first to find those sandbanks Morgan Terror was a talking about <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

you can land on that sandy beach tip. don't get too close though. it's REALLY shallow, even too shallow for a bermuda sloop. it doesn't get stuck, but the hull grinds across the seabed, doing some massive damage.
