No doubt I've just not understood the issue again (sry folks) but after capturing a settlement and governing it under my name, when I set to sea and re-dock under my own colours, I can only dock into the fort followed by an attack of ten or so bandits. All guards disappear and I am unable to get help from officers/crewmen since they refuse to come ashore with me.

Is this a similar thing to custom architecture coming under attack? Why is a town not able to defend itself, and where did everyone go? =/

Note: am able to enter city as normal provided I use colours other than my own (eg English, they're friendly to me)

HUH? I have NO idea what you mean. As far as I'm aware,
attacks on your own towns are not even programmed into the game! :shock
 
OK i'll try and explain in a little more detail in that case; I had 4 ships with british colours and LoM (no promotion). Attacked St. Martin (iirc, the one next to nevis island?) and destroyed all fort cannons. I landed troops from my own ship and managed to wear 'em down. Spoke to the govenor after the fighting to arrange terms of surrender and claimed it under my personal colours (after assigning officers to govenor/fort). French soldiers still patrolled, but did not attack. I DO get money from taxes.

1) If I set to sea and return to island under english colours (ie. allied to personal colours) I am able to dock no problem (note: cannot 'fast travel' anywhere, always says 'cannot fast travel something is going to happen). Besides this, all is well.

2) If I set to sea and return under personal colours (ie. same as the colony), a third 'docking' icon appears in the port; mooring (usual), port (usual), fort (unusual). no matter which I choose (inc. mooring, then port from the deck), I see a fort loading screen, then am present in the fort. 10 or more bandits immediately draw swords and attack me. I am unable to move (tho i can guard/attack/use item), and no officers or crewmen are there to help me, and there are no guards/soldiers present as there usually are in the fort. I have not yet managed to find out what happens if I kill all the attackers.

If have not tested it when having claimed to colony for england rather than personal colours. I have tried restarting the game and loading from before and after arranging terms of surrender.

Sorry I can't be of any real use; I know nothing of modding so can only describe what happened.
 
Thanks; this does sound pretty weird and probably needs to be investigated.

We really need more observers with a keen eye like yourself :3 NH is so huge, you need to tell us what to fix lol
