Solved Ship Classes 3,2,1

for the life of me i cant find any ship, below Class 4. i sail around, even get a bounty on my head of 100,000 of spain by attacking their convoys in hopes a class 3,2, or 1, ship will engage me so i can take it, but,.........nope, every bounty hunter, spanish patrol, or pirate ship is a class 4 or above. where are the bigger ships?

They are Rare as hell... maybe 1 in 200 ships i see is one of the 3 top classes.
when you see one, do not hesitate and make everything possible to get it.

I am frustrated too because my favorite Big boys... WHEN i see them... they are in a Port of a Friendly nation. So i would pay a veeeery high price if i were to start anything stupid in a friendly port.
and on top of that, the friendly ports have mostly Big fortresses... no chance to get out alive with both ships.

But that is the point i guess...
there were no Tons of major ships in that area...

I believe by design (GoF! standards) pirates won't spawn anything higher than 4th rates since we felt that it wasn't realistic to see a pirate in something like a MoW or smaller.

im sailing for England, and every class 3,2,1 i see are in friendly ports, i did run into a dutch MoW, yest, when BH's were looking for me, but failed to capture it, lost my entire crew. i have a rank of 34, with lots of personal/ship ablities, yet cant seem to find any of the big boys @ all. like i said even with a 100,000$ bounty on my head, i rarely run into one.

OK i spoke too soon................
i was sailing my class 4 frigate, South/SouthWest of Port Royale, when i ran into 2 spanish bounty hunters, one class 4, one class 3, took the 1st (the PoW) in a boarding action, and swapped, adding one of my fighters as capt. of the frigate, then i boarded the 2nd (WP) and took it as well, and also set the fighter as capt. now im going to PR (port Royale) where ill keep one or both, (the frigate/PoW or WP) @ port control. but i finally found them.

been playing most of the night, and ever since i captured the WP (War Pinnace), ive been running into alot of the 3 Class, i just captured a dutch 2 decker and one called mondurant or something like that, from Pirates not chasing bounty hunters. have two stored @ nevis Port Control and two @ Tortuga so in all i have 4 class 3 ships now.

Mordaunt is a beaut...
very very close to a "licorne" / unicorn. 52 28 pounders if you are lucky,, otherwise 20 to 24 pounders.
Nimble, reacctive and afficient in the wind.
Its a game that takes some patience....
