From the creator of The Falconeer (a sea/skyfaring game in its own right) and Bulwark (a citybuilder in the same oceanic universe) comes ShipShaper, a tool for designing your own boats and ships that you can then freely export as 3d models to 3d print or use as you see fit, for your own mods, commercial games, tabletop wargames, etc.
store.steampowered.com
The mechanics are easy to pick up, you shape and resize the hull and various parts like masts, superstructures, etc. by pulling and dragging different control points and add elements according to contextual placement, similar to other cosy construction games like Tiny Glade. The variety of parts allows a lot of freedom, you can create your own fantasy ships or recreate in detail a historical vessel.
Here's a timelapse with one of my builds in the demo that has been running all summer so you can see how it works. Intro is in Spanish but you can put on the cringy AI dubbng if you wish.
You can then take them for a test drive in the Falconeer world map to see how they perform. And even export them directly to Bulwark to replace the ships in that game, through Steam Workshop integration.
