I did complete the main quest. Twice. Once in the stock game, once with the Build. Never ended up being captured, except for in the Redmond tavern with Danielle, so I missed the Siege of Oxbay.

If you don't get captured, you go talk to the mine commandant, and he opens the door for you. Then you talk to Leborio, go back and buy his freedom from the commandant, then talk to Leborio again.
