Hi guys :> First of all,im not sure is this even right place to ask,but i hope so :)

Anyways,I've been trying to install this like two days,but it allways shows up with engine.exe error after i install b14_alpha9-5_patch4,and im going to give up with that. Actually,i mean't to ask something about the storyline,so: i've installed b_13 build final, b14_alpha9 and b14_alpha9-5 versions. I started with jack sparrow,and first what i noticed was that the black pearl wasn't under his command. So this is placed to time when barbossa betrayed jack etc and now i have to help jack get pearl back and so,but how im even going to get this campaing started? Do i have to talk to someone? After i get the pearl back,does it continue automaticully to storyline of the "dead mans chest"

How is this working? : D help

And still one question,about installing mods/patches. Am i doing right when i place them ALL to Modules -> Techniques folder?
 
Best thing to do is -- Install the game from the CD.

Then :-> install Build 14 Beta 1 Full -- then Patch 3 as per below ( no need to install B13 or B14 Alpha :no )


3. Full Version Installation Instructions
This file is readily compatible with the stock game.

To install, please follow these instructions:
1 - Install Build 14 Beta 1 Full, following the instructions in the installer and allow it to run RunMe.bat
2 - Install Build 14 Beta 1 Patch 3 to your main game folder
3 - Run Rename.bat in your main game folder
4 - OPTIONAL: Tweak the controls and the game's settings to your liking in the Options menu
5 - Start a new game, select a storyline and ENJOY!


Must run the Runme & Rename.bat files or you will have serious problems. :yes


The Jack Sparrow story takes place before the film Curse of the Black Pearl and leads up to it ( you play through a game version of the film towards the end of the storyline ) The storyline stops at the end of Curse of the Black Pearl at the moment -- there are also some sidequests involving some of the Pirate Lords.

In B14 Beta -- you start as Gore Verbinski on Tortuga -- go talk to Tavernkeeper about room --talk to Mr Gibbs --- Transported to Cayman as Jack Sparrow --- walk up to soldiers at port Gate -- arrrested --- ( that should get you started) ;)

To find the wiki -- Click on News tab at top of screen --- then click on Pirate Wiki in site Navigation box on right --- in Wiki --Click on New Horizons --- Then Quests -- this will give you the walkthroughs for some of the storylines.

Eääh,this is so frustrating..

I've been trying to install this like three days and it still wont work,when i installed mod 13 it actually let me in the game but after that i quitted and installed those patches and it started to come up with engine.exe error :modding

Now i have that mod 14 beta full (it's the one you suggested) installed on my desktop and it still keeps saying Engine.Exe error :F Could someone send me that path,becouse im not sure where to install this mod.

When you install the original game from the CD it will create a folder called --- Pirates of the Caribbean. ( with lots of sub-folders)

This is the main game folder. :yes

Install the mods to this folder ( Pirates of the Caribbean ) as well and let the installer overwrite the files.

When you run the Runme.Bat -- you will see a lot of messages saying file not found ---- this is normal & ok :yes

Install to your desktop? You need to do as Talisman says and install to the same folder as the original game installed to. :yes

Some people have had problems with the sea graphics :yes -- can you post a picture here. So we can check if you have the same problems. :drunk

To post a picture

When you get the sea graphics in the game -- Press Print Screen --- then exit game.

Open Windows Paint and paste the image ---- then Save As and change File type to JPEG. ( to reduce file size )

On Pirates Ahoy --- open a post -- click on Browse button and select Image File --- then click on attach this file.
