Some more i wish there was thoughts

BahBah

Landlubber
1. I wish when there is a battle going on that doesnt involve you , instead of just joining for the attack you only see ONE ship in the battle mode, you actually see both ships lugging it out so you have a kind of backup.

2. I wish when battles happened inside or near storms this had an affect in the battle mode so you could see the rain sweeping across and much darker, instead of just normal bright battles.

3.I wish there was a way of storing treasure like burying it so when you have to divide plunder you can go back and get your treasure just like pirates did long ago

4.I Wish there was plagues or sickness affecting towns which had an affect on soldier moral

5. I wish for a parrot!

6.I wish other pirates didnt say Stay clear you scirvy pirate , when they are pirates aswell

7. I wish there was a way of speeding up time , like the old Pirates game ALT+T so everything speeds up because travelling east takes too long there is no westerly airstream

I hear you on the traveling east thing. I hate it that the wind never blows east. I dont't care how accurate that is supposed to be. It should be random changing from month to month

<!--`QuoteBegin-donjn`+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(donjn)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->I have one wish..

I wish people would stop complaining about this great game.[/quote]

I just gave my honest views of a change EVERY game has some niggles
im not one for ignoring flaws if it isnt perfect it isnt perfect , i would think people would agree with alot of those wishs above though.

I love the wind factor. I mean, I hate having to slog my way east in a shot up galleon... but I like the fact that it's in the game. It just adds something. Not sure I can put my finger on it, but it does add something.

Yes, I need a parrot too!

And I take offence to being lumped into the "pirate" category. After all, I work under a Letter of Marque issued to me by order of the King. So, I am a Privateer, see? Besides, even if I didn't have authority to plunder enemy ships and towns, I'd never admit to being a "pirate"... more like an entrepreneur. Yeah, that's it <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Thats true why does it say im a pirate , if i have a letter of marque am only sinking the ships that my governer commands me to ?

Yes... I take offense to it too <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

Harrr! mates,don't mind it all,if de shoe fits wear it <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> asides I'd been called werse things afore <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

I think this game is perfect the way it is.

... but it could be even `perfect-er` <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

With all due respect that is a catastrophic waste of the efforts Sid put into recreating the life of a sailor in the Caribbean. The tradewinds don't blow east...ever. It's been the same for hundreds of years. Hence the reason it appears that way in game! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/diomed.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dio" border="0" alt="diomed.gif" /> Cheers!

erm if sid wanted the game to be realistic to the life of a pirate , why is their no multship battles? why is there so much clipping? why is the same baron with every single map piece? Why is their no multiship ? why cant you keep ships when dividing plunder? why cant you bury treasure yourself?

:p

Why would you want to bury your treasure, and risk getting it stolen by another pirate (like you constantly steal other pirates' treasures)? Too much clipping, I agree. Shame about the `multi-ship` battles, but maybe there was once, but he found that it provided less fun and more trouble, so it wasn't worth it? When you divide up the plunder, you're a landlubber for 6 months, so keeping several ships could get expensive, if you wanted it to be realistic. After all, I can't imagine anyone providing space for all 8 ships for free?

Ok, it could be done, but would it really be necessary? Besides, you only have 40 men when you go out to sea again, after dividing up the plunder, and with 8 ships, that would be a pretty small crew on each.

And the tradewinds makes the game more challenging. If you have a ship in a bad shape, and going west would be a terrible mistake, as there are nothing but enemies there, you'd have to stay away from bad weather and other enemy ships or pirate ships while slowly moving back towards a friendly town, village or settlement.

Yeah... why no scurvy? Why no sickness and death at an early age? Why no hardtack? Why no getting strung up on the spot when you get caught?

To me. the tradewinds are an interesting strategy element to the game itself. It makes you play against the world itself instead of just against it's inhabitants. Yes, it can be a pain in the butt, but once you know what you are doing, and employ a little planning, you can work around it for the most part.
