System Requirements Question!

M. Ribeiro

Landlubber
Hello Everyone,

I am just about to purchase a notebook and ideally would like to get one that could meet the requirements for Pirates!
Will the ATI Radeon Mobility Radeon 9200 (32MB) be enough?
I can't find anywhere if it supports hardware T&L?
Or should I just byte the bullet and get a notebook with the 9600/9700?

Thanks for any help! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Then x2 and thats what you will need <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

It would be good if you could say what you have besides that videocard.

It is very difficult for us to answer cause we havent played the game...

I though can tell you that graphiccard maybe will be possible to play with but it wont run any good.....

I think you atleast need a decent 64MB videocard to play it with ok settings.

I think the minimum req are:

CPU: 1000 MHz
Memory: 256 MB
videocard: 32 MB

btw. I thought 9200 had a memory of 128 MB !?

hopwever the frequences is more important than the memorysize...

a 128 MB card can be both shit and great!

Its a Notebook, Sony S150
Pentium M Dothan 1.5 (2Mb Level 2 Cache)
512MB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 32MB graphics card.

** on the official pirates website it mentions 32MB Video Card with hardware T&L ** I don't know if the Mobility 9200 can handle that even though it is only a directX 8.1 native card... **

Thank You <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

I really would recommend you to buy a new graphicscard then....

Radeon 9600/9800 PRO will probably run the game great on your computer.

If you dont wanna spend much money on your computer then buy a GFti4200 on the second hand market. should be really cheap....

A graphics card is almost like a separate CPU for loading graphics, and a new and decent one might improve overall performance in speed. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
