Hello everyone, my semester is finally over and I have time to play POTC some <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thpirateshipff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
ahoy!" border="0" alt="thpirateshipff.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />
Anyhow, I have put together a music pack though I don't think it is finished. I can probably still upload it to the ftp or something like that if anyone wants to try it out (and if everyone's ok with me uploading to the ftp <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />). It's a bunch of classical music that I like that I thought fit certain parts of the game well. There are still some bugs (for example sometimes after winning a sea battle, it will play the victory music I have chosen and then start playing some other music at the same time which as you can probably imagine is pretty chaotic. For this reason, I moved that piece to normal sailing until I can sort it out though it may take some coding). It's still not finished; I've selected all the music I want to use, but I still have some other things in mind. I'd like to have it play certain music while raining and other music without rain (I'm not talking about storm, just rain. I'm almost positive that this is possible after looking at the file "sound.c" in the folder "PROGRAM") or even at night as apposed to day. I also may edit the music files themselves to shorten them a bit (the pack will be kind of big).
Also, I was wondering if there is a function or event for adding a ship into the water immediately. If so, could it be done with the press of a button? For example, let's say that I would like to press the key "Insert" on my keyboard during gameplay (sailing) and place an enemy (let's just say Spanish) brig at my starboard broadside about 400 yards away. (I'm not interested in cheating, but I've got an idea for a small mod. This could lay the groundworks for it). Or, if it would be easier, to have a command on the list after pressing "enter" that executes this function or event? (like the 'sail to' command or 'hoist flag' command for example) That would actually be more in line with the mod I was thinking about.
Another thing you might be interested to know is that I was playing POTC not long ago and encountered strange things in the Archipelago. I pressed "g" twice to get to the next game hour to get a weather change. Everything was fine until my view started to spin. Spin? Yes, that's right, my view and my ship started to spin; the ship was actually about to keel over. Worried, I quickly pressed "r" to return to normal time. The ship slowed down its spinning and gradually righted itself, but then I couldn't give the ship any directional input for some reason. I don't know what was going on, but I thought I'd at least report it. The previous two paragraphs are the main points of my post though, not this one.
