This is the french mapship's skin ..would anyone make a more detailed version of it? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> This frigate skin looks good to be a base skin for a exellent pirate frigate skin ..if ye get me meaning. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

French battleship? That's a Frigate. And as far as I know, it SHOULD be in Alpha 8 WIP 1.

Indeed there ARE a French Corvette and French Frigate, but as far as I remember, they ARE in Alpha 8 WIP 1. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_confused.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="icon_confused.gif" />
 
Meh.. I did not do that mapship skin ..I just added it on a random sailable frigate to show you what I mean by "Pirate Frigate". <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

Only did the hull texture as Cylon suggested, if not the mapship skin ,which one did he mean?

Ha, found the proper one, never mind ,won't take long to do again.
 
I just thought it was rather odd to repaint the mapship and not the real one. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/user_comment.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="user_comment.gif" />
 
Had me worried then Pieter, thought I'd done the wrong one.

Seeing as I've got the better one out now though, I might as well do a more detailed version. Should have done that in the first place.

Nice skin but ..wrong model. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> And aye I do meant that making a pirate frigate skin for a sailable real frigate model not for a mapship. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Have re-done the Pirate Frigate , looks a lot more tidy now. (The correct one).

Copy the ship's folder and HEX-Edit it to use a different texture. Check <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=11380" target="_blank">this</a> thread for a link to a HEX editor and instructions to use Notepad++ as a HEX editor (see the bottom posts).

So, with the gm's edited, I will need to insert a Ship_init c. entry ?
I was going to add an entry like:-

I changed,... ( reShip.Name = "Frigate3" ), to... ( refShip.Name ="FrigateP" )

If I leave the rest as it is, and then put the whole block of code in. Would that be correct ?

As long as you make sure that the new refShip.name is the same as your new ship's folder name, it should be good. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
