Title lost

hello,

After I finished the coas questline, I boarded a ship and noticed my men were not wearing uniforms. Checked my title and its back to none. I was already an english commodore. Any way to get it back? Tried equipping the patent, which probably unequipped when chad stripped me -_- also tried changing flags to no avail.

I mean I want to keep my title. Anyways, I started a new game as Peter Blood. Did the ascold quest until the part when you swap bodies with leif, after i got my body back I lost my title and patent again-_- Any way to get around this problem? I like my men wearing uniforms makes it easier to distinguish them from enemy pirates.

Edit: note that Im already a french commodore
