Unofficial Build14_Alpha7 Fix

In the mean time we are waiting for an "Official" PostBuild14 new release I try to fix some bugs encounter during my POTC adventures.

If you have encountered the same Bugs try this fix.

Bug Fixed:

1) Surrender Officer dialog; if you hire surrender captain before to take his ship (during Captain cabin dialog) then the enemy ship became a tartane (even if before was a frigate) and if you take it then have a CTD. Fixed.

2) Governor's Pirate mission; Surrender Pirate Captain is always named "Deadly Pirate". Fixed

3) François de Vigny missed dialog; In Guadalupe Plantation François de Vigny_dialog can't open his dialog. Fixed.

4) Random Item; some problem to take random item (hand didn't compare on the upper left corner of the screen). Fixed.

5) Officers exchange item problem; the interface pannel for exchange items with you officers became slow in some situation. Fixed.

6) Add CCC DirectSail fix that sometime caused CTD.

NOTE:

If you apply this fix CORPSEMODE=4 will not work you have to use CORPSEMODE=0 or 1 or 2.

Installation required (Installation order):
1) POTC
2) build13_full.exe
3) b14_alpha6.zip
4) pb_modifications.zip
5) Santiago Quest.zip

6) B14A7_giuliootto_Fix2.zip



PS.
This fix is not intend to include in the official modPack is just for have a more stable build14 with all last features, while we are waiting for an official new release from Pieter Boeler or Pirate_KK <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

I can't attach more than 500K and it's 700K (I don't know why I have this limit maybe forum admin can do something <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> ).
Also i can't enter in Pirateahoy FTP I try with old and new FTP.

I got it sometime ago as attach in a Bartolomeo Portoghese (a name like this) thread somewhere in this forum.

Please try to find it, if you have problem I can send it by Email.

Doesn't the latest pb_modifications.zip include the Santiago quest? I know it's in the version on my HD, but I'm not sure if I actually uploaded it.

To Pirate_KK: If pb_modifications.zip does not include the Santiago ship model files, be sure to add them from elsewhere. If you can't find them, I'll send them to you.

Bartolomeu o Portugues released a newest version of Santiago_quest that wasn't included in your pb_modifications.zip

What do you mean? I rewrote that quest partly and most definitly did use that update. I'm not entirely sure if it's in the pb_modifications I uploaded, though. I might have forgotten to upload a newer version. But I did send the proper files to Pirate_KK.

After many time I've encounter boarding problem again.
It seems related to the difference between boarding ships (eg. I've a class 1 ship and boarding a class <2 ship) it seems that the number of boarding enemy isn't proportional with the crew of my ship and enemy ship, in this case I saw the boarding problem. (sorry for my english I know is hard to understand).

However I manage to workaround this problem and seems I successed, in attached a new version of my fix.

It works over Build14A6+PB_Additional.
NOT works with Pirate_KK's Build14A7

PS1.
I've played with this fix for a Lot of time and I didn't encounter any bugs.

Thanks for this. I applied it and boarding problems have gone away in 14a6 + PB_Mods + B14A7_giuliootto_Fix3. However, I do have a DirectSail problem documented in another thread.

I did a WinMerge against the original CCCDirectSail.c in 14a6 and found some variances. For example, the code that does the check for "has char entered map" has been removed. Is there any reason for the changes in the CCCDirectSail.c file in your B14A7_giuliootto_Fix3.zip file? Because this appears to have made DirectSail stop working for me, unless I enter the ship from the ship move interface.

I suggest to replace the CCCDirectSail with the last from CCC you should find it in some thread or replace it with the original from Build14A6. The only change I did in the CCCDirectSail.c was to disable automatically enter in 1View mode during direct sail because cause some crash as CCC suggested.
