Need Help Hoist the colors (For the 125431th time)

I might be willing to change it up, but we must also respect the previous Modder's work, i think there was a discussion about this recently started by @Fluen...
This seems much less like a conscious artistic decision and much more like a filler greeting that's been used back in the day and never been changed. I don't see any logical reason why the whole buccaneer brotherhood and their danish ambassador friend would all be patriotic shipbuilders from the Netherlands. ;)

I followed that discussion, and I understand that there are areas where changes would disrespect previous Modder's work. But in general, I think we shouldn't be too afraid of making changes, clearly not when they're improvements. It's not changing the story, it's removing a case of almost every one of many characters using the same, weirdly out of place voice clips.

I looked in the alias file and I first thought I found a lot of duplicates that could be removed to save space, but then I discovered those must be the ones that @Grey Roger already did comment out to save space.

At which point should I do Justine Le Moigne and the other customised sidequests again?

especially if the same modder (@Short Jack Gold) used "Gr_SJG" for the same characters in "Devlin Opera".
No, it was me imported these voice clips and made "Gr_SJG", because I was irritated by the exact same thing in Devlin Opera: The whole pirate gang consisted of dutchmen and dutch shipbuilders there as well! Everyone in Turks townhall is a separate character from their twins in "Hoist the Colours", defined in the Devlin Opera storyline folder. Except for one, who I found out is the captain who takes you from Bridgetown to Cartagena in the "Strange Plants" quest, so you can do @Jack Rackham's haunted hotel room puzzle, meaning it's also the same character ID with no separate definiton for Devlin Opera. So he still talks dutch and might (?) cause some interference if you try to play "Strange Plants" and the hotel puzzle in Devlin Opera. I don't know, haven't tried it.

"Brinkley" vs. "Brin" is supposed to be confusing! (Take a look at the description for "Brinkley" in "initModels.c". ;)) The whole point is that first of all she claims to be Brinkley
But first of all she claims to be Brin! You meet her behind the tavern (everybody meets behind that tavern, just ask Rabel Yverneau!) and she introduces herself as Annabella Brinkley-choo, covering up the "kley" with a fake sneeze and then correcting to "Brin".

The only thing with the last room (4) is that it's not good at all for any fights.
This because the walk path is interrupted in many spots. Enemies will appear in zones.

If you want some fights here maybe use the two last rooms. (and make something interesting
with room nr 3)

Hmm, this might be an issue, as the fight happens in the same room where Sao Feng is placed/met by Barbosa, so we need to use a room where walk paths are mostly working. Doing it in two or more rooms might not work out for this scene...

At which point should I do Justine Le Moigne and the other customised sidequests again?

When you finish COTBP do "Sao Feng's missing bodyguards", and then you can do "Admirals Missing Son" which leads into "Justine Le Moigne’s Disappearance" and after finishing it DMC questline will start (after you agree to take Tia Dalma to her shack).

I have updated the wiki so you can follow that as well if anything gets a bit confusing.

The walk zones in the waterroom are:

1 lowest level around the water.
2 highest level, above the stairs but it's U-shaped
3 - 6 one in each of the stairs

nr 1 maybe possible for a fight

If you will add your famous workarounds for the stairs to function, i can just disable the workaround for the fight, so player is forced to fight in the lowest zone, that could work!

Perhaps change some of the modder characters to use "Gr_SJG" and leave others as "Gr_Pieter Boelen". (Or use some of the other greeting aliases as well.) Having the different characters sound different wouldn't do any harm.

OK, so it was even more confusing, and confused me. xD The basic point remains, it's supposed to be like that. Some of the time she impersonates Annabella Brin to persuade you to go along with her.

And when should I join the pirate nation and do the other pirate lord sidequests? Between CotBP and SFMB or earlier?

I think you get assigned to pirate a nation during or before COTBP, but in case you don't, it's best to join the pirates right after COTBP, as some of the pirate lord quests won't be playable otherwise, and besides the two pirate lord quests that i have mentioned before, no other are obligatory and can be done at any time. :)

You can join the pirate nation whenever you like! When Cutler Beckett burns the Wicked Wench and Davy Jones resurrects it as the Black Pearl, he suggests that you sign up. But there's nothing stopping you from joining the Brotherhood before that.

You're best to do "Sao Feng's Missing Bodyguards" before you go to Aruba. There you'll see two men fighting as the start of the storyline's version of "Artois Voysey/Nigel Blythe", except that this time intervening in the fight is the "evil" thing to do because you're killing a slave and saving a slaver. If you do that, you want to be a Pirate Lord before you go to Eleuthera otherwise you can't fight White Gentleman Jocard and free the slaves.

Other sidequests don't care whether you're a Pirate Lord but do require you to be in the Brotherhood. "Saving Askay's Brother" is worth doing early because that gets you Jack Sparrow's unique pistol.

Doesn't Curse of the Black Pearl automatically trigger upon arrival in Port Royale as soon as Becket burnt the Wicked Wench? (or at least at one point of the story) In that case, wouldn't I have to avoid Port Royale while doing the sidequests to not get things mixed up?

I want to do as much as possible, but one thing after another. So for example Davy Jones resurrects Pearl -> Sao Feng -> other Sidequests -> Curse of the Black Pearl -> Justine Le Moigne -> Dead Man's Chest?

You'll have to admit it can get a bit complicated... ;)

That's how i did it...

The Curse of the Black Pearl starts when you get the Black Pearl from Davy Jones. The film part of the story starts when you arrive at Port Royale. There's some shenanigans involving Barbossa and a 10 year interval on Tortuga in between. There's also something in "Storyteller_dialog.h" about adventures during those 10 years:
Hang on! Captain Jack Sparrow just got a new ship, what are the tales of this ship?
I'm not sure off-hand how to trigger that, but the upshot is that you can do sidequests between the first time you get the Pearl and the time you arrive in Port Royale for the film stuff.

One time I did a bunch of sidequests while I had the Interceptor, after Port Royale and before Isla de Muerte.

Actually you might want to do "Admirals Missing Son" quest before doing any other sidequests as it leads into "Justine Le Moigne" and you will have to wait for 3 months anways for "Justine Le Moigne" to start, might as well use that time for other quests ;)
Not necessarily. You have to wait 3 months before Lucas tells you to go to St. Pierre. You don't have to wait for him to tell you, though - you can go there without being told.

But according to the revised walkthrough, you must complete "Sao Feng's Missing Bodyguards" before doing "Justine le Moigne's Disappearance" otherwise you can't take Tia Dalma to Antigua, which means any players who complete "Justine le Moigne's Disappearance" first are probably going to miss out on all the new stuff...

It is, but as i have mentioned before, at least the part of being a pirate lord will be simplified soon, dunno what can we do about the rest of the story, maybe you will have some ideas after you finish it again.

Hang on! Captain Jack Sparrow just got a new ship, what are the tales of this ship?

Might be triggered in case Jack has decided to give up the pearl and has the other ship now in Sao Feng's quest, not sure.

I'm nearing the new stuff, only Lucas and Justine are left. I've done everything else.

So far, it's honestly sometimes a bit obvious that different people must have worked on different quests or adaptations of other quests that can all be done in different orders. I think I have four quest book entries still open. And one of them (Ship stolen!) probably isn't supposed to be open at that point.

I have encountered the same issue and another weird questbook bug, but @Grey Roger has not encountered it on his playthrough, so i didn't do anything with it.

It could be adapted to the same style of writing/coding, but would probably be a lot of work, i have tried to stay closer to COTB quest style and writing in my quests, hopefully you will like it ;) Coding is slow atm due to real life stuff that has piled up a bit for me, but i will release an update at some point, probably next month. I want it to be stable and finished enough.
