14.9.5 startup porblem

Odieman

Powder Monkey
Hi I noticed the new version 14 was up today so I dusted off my Potc game and installed the game from the cds. I then continued by downloading and installing the 13 build, and subsequently the 14 build, then the 14.9.5 build, and the the file called patch 2, and lastly the small fix. I had tried installing the game earlier to a different location, but hadnt installed according to the instructions. However now I have followed the instructions to the line and yes I have run the runme file and the other run bat when installing 14.9.5.

So heres the problem, after doing everything the instructions told I still get a crash saying bla bla bla engine has stopped working, when the game is loading a new game. It doesnt happen emedieatly but after like 10 seconds or so while loading. I have tried altering the resolution both from the config file and the engine file, but it doesnt help. My system is vista 32 bit, Genuine intel core CPU T1600 1.66 GHz, and 2 Gig Ram.

So is there any solution to this problem?

EDIT: Ok so more specifically what happens is that, it seems that just as the is finished loading new game, the game either just quits and puts me back to the deskop with no error message. Or I get the Pirates...... has stopped working, or "is not responding"

EDIT 2: Ok problem solved well kind of. Turns out it was because I had a Intel graphics card. I am currently using my old laptop. Good news is that the game should run perfectly back home on my other new computer. Swiftshader solved the crash problem, however it was lagging horribly :p Well anyway case closed, anyway wanna take a shoutout and say that the new build looks very good from the screens and so on I have seen looking forward to playing it when I get home, so hats of to all the people who are working on this <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" /> .

Good luck on the other computer then <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
