Yarr!

I'm using the 1x-3x mode rather often because of the sea battles being so long ..

But I can never set it back to 1x again, unless a dialog or a boarding is made ..

A'right .. I can't get it to work, it speeds everything up, in theory, when its speeded, i will have to click in 0.01 seconds, if I hold it longer, it will just set the time up again ..

I got promoted by Silehard, bastard, He changed my name to "midshipman".. I don't like it, I tried the "h" button to change my name back! But I can't! Checked the Buildconfig ( think thats the name), its still at my original name, but it wont change it again ! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

If you press "r" once, it will speed up to 3x. If you press it again, it will go back to one. If you press "g" (I think) it will go to 10x, if you press it again it goes to 30x. You have to press "r" to go back to normal. At least thats how its always worked for me.

With the name thing, if you go into "Character" and click on his name, it turns black, just type in his old name (or any name you want) and press enter. It usually works, although sometimes it locks up the game.

I reconfigured my keys so that the large "+" on the key pad is set to x1-x3. And the smaller "-" above it is at x10-x30. Pressing the "+" key once, always returns me to x1 when I'm using a faster time. Have you tried resetting and/or reconfiguring your controls in the Options Menu?

Yes, you can do it with you character too. (at least I can in my game) You can also rename your officers (I changed Artois into a girl and changed his name) <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Yes, I recommend what Jack says, my keys went crazy once, and I just reset to default and then remapped them how I wanted it.

for cahangin u r name u have just to click into the name field (in the character menu)

But my name is still dumb, if I enter the F2 ->Character and clicks my name, it just changer to my officers! .. Any help?
 
What mods are you using? Are you using any Post Build 12 mods? In the most recent version, if you click your name or any of your officer's names in the F2 menu, you can press Backspace, then type in the new name and press Enter to confirm. In Build 12.1, that wasn't possible.

I don't think you can remove your title really. You could tr and get yourself promoted to a title you do like. Or you could quit the nation's service. Or pay no attention to it. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
Well, I'm using the version from July, I think thats 12 build, not 12.1 ..?
In the buildinfo it says Build 12 ..

If I need an update, to I have to start a new game?
 
Is there a "Post Build 12 Version.txt" in your main PotC folder? Build 12.1 was released over a year ago. Did you download the file in July or did you download a Post Build 12 Mods version in July?
 
I don't have any "Post Build 12 Version" in my POTC folder.

I downloaded the full install from PA! Not sure which one it was..

It's not a BAD thing; that's for sure. It's the most stable version you'll find. It's just missing a lot of new features.
 
I tried downloading the update, I think mine is the 11. september version..

After installing in the POTC folder, it started crashing the game.. At the blue "initializing" screen it crashes with the message "Abnormal program termination" ...

did I do something wrong?

I copied the whole POTC folder as a backup ..
When I open "config" it asks where I installed POTC. The Reg files are complete, I checked 'em ..
