A couple of ideas for the main quest.

I have just played through the main quest and the Animists quest using build 12.1 and Pieter's modpack which has a lot features that I really love. Stormy start and the weapons locker in particular. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

The improvements in the animists quest got me thinking about some similar things we might do in the main quest. Recently on my way to FDF to stop the amunition ship I captured a battle ship and when escaping, fired back at the fort, defeated, and sacked the town. I thought it might be possible have Silehard acknowledge that in his dialouge with Nathaniel. I have no idea how to code it in, but I would we be happy to write the dialogue if any one else is interested.

Another thing that has always bothered me is the mention of the missing firgate that even mentions in the Greenford tavern. I think it might be worth trying to build a story line about it and would be happy to work with a someone on it if there is any interest.

Aye Jason,thats sumth'n that been bother'n others as well fer some time since its been brought up before,write'n dialog would be easy enuff,slipp'n de code in so as not ter break the main quest is doable,I'd be intersted in hear'n what ye have in mind fer a storyline <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
Hey Skull --

On the frigate I think we might want to try to get the info from Silehard when Danielle and Nathaniiel talk to him in the bedroom, look in a couple places on the the Inca treasure and not find it. When you return to see Brin with or without Silehard, Birn could you give a mission to find it. Then we could track it through the archipeligo. I also so think we should consider making the ship an MOW.

I am open to suggestions but if we are actually going to work on it maybe we should do the more detailed conversation in PMs so as not to spoil the fun.

On sacking FDF early in the game, I think that is mostly about adding one option in the report conversation although we might put in something of a tussle over the plunder.

What do you think?

Sacking ANY enemy fort/town should engender some kind of comment from your governor, I'd think... Only thing is, you would need to trigger it somehow... If you got to a certain point in the fort (before surrender), there could be someone to offer you their sword and the keys to the town or something... Thats the thing Catalina,yer probly right aboot one O' pirate ships being the miss'n frigate,dialog for it was left out,if that was Akella's intenton,make'n der main quest longer wouldn't be the answer,pass'n in onto Brin is a great idea since their are no quest generated from him at the moment.Added the fort ter QC a while ago,relaced the Strange house in de jungle with it,so its wait'n fer some quests <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

I seem to recall frigate as well. However, it may be that it is brought back and is part of the armada that sails against you after you take Greenford.

Shades of the SD English MQ actually, with sleazy governors messing with squadrons.

The frigate off KR is a pirate frigate--Jurcksen's.

OK I am on board with a Brin quest. I will work on drafting a stroyline this week. Any ideas and hints would be welcome.

On another note, I never thought the missing frigate was the one that showed up guarding the treasure. I think that is becasue that ship is captained by Isen--- whatever the pirate lord and I always thought of it as a British Naval ship. HMM
 
Hey, wait--what about the ship you steal the idol from? (or whatever thing it is you have to board and take) What nation/type was that?

I really think the mention of that lost ship was meant to be a ship Silehard gave to the pirates to ensure their cooperation in regards to finding the idol...

yep, started on it again,werk'n it inter pirate fort on QC as the pirates have Admiral Hugenoght Captive.I have a fair amount O' free time right now so would be a good time te get going on it.Biggest problem I'd be seeing right now is I have Build 12.1 not P. Mod Pack,is this going ter be a problem,I'm assum'n O' course ye plan on compil'n his mod pack with a build 13 in the future?

Build it upon B12.1 without Pieter's modpack - the modpack is in a flux right now so it is not by any means FIRM... Pieter's Modpack will eventually be incorporated into B12 - the pieces that do not require a new game - and the rest will go into B13 which will require a new game. That modpack in its current form is, basically, the beta form of 12.2. So I would say code with that. Because it would be better to use the code features in it (that will be in 12 soon enough), than to write the quest one way and have to rewrite it... (or not use some neat feature that would help)

(Though I'd ask you keep the Text and Voice thread's points in mind for your dialog, i.e. use the GetMyXXX() calls rather than hard-coding address and pronoun dialog.)
The only other features I can think of ATM that would help questwriting are:
Ship surrenders (if you want to be able to trigger one, I can write that up)
The wait_some_days() processor, if, say, you're knocked out or locked in prison or whatever for a month.

Nathan,you were right mate,code says the ship with the idol on it is an Frigate,must be the missing Frigate Ewan was refer'n to, makes sense Silehard wouldn't want anbody ter know about the Frigate consider'n what her cargo is.
